Newbie - Vent & ResMEd AirSense10 VS Phillips Dream station
HI All
New to the form looking for some support with is fearful of the mask and cpap machine as i start my therapy on April 27th as I just had my sleep study after i have deviated septum surgery and my results of my AHI was 58.4 I have been having issue since 2011 as i did home test and my AHI was 69 but i still had to get my nose surgery but now it is taking it toll stress, depression, marital issues, tiredness, anxiety, irritability, mood swings I also have a 6 month old daughter which i feel i am a complete failure as a husband and dad as i am always tired and wife just resents me for being so tired and having issues as she has had to go it pretty much alone etc and since our daughter was born yes i haven't been helpful as much as we talked about as i have had stomach issue due to stress and then nose surgery which just made snoring worse on top of depression and such.
i have my visit with the sleep specialist on tuesday and have been looking at to machines and would like some input as i assume i will have to choose one on that day as well
Machine #1 Resmed air sense 10
Machine #2 phillips dream station
Have Res med Swift FX mash but have seen the Phillips dreamer mask any other ones that are great on the market ?
Thanks all in advance
I have also seen some talked about sleepyhead software ???? is that compatible with both stations ?

These are not CPAP machines. They are classes of CPAP machines. There are some in there that are excellent. There are some you definitely don't want to own.sleepsound85 wrote:Machine #1 Resmed air sense 10

I recommend these two machines with a personal bias to ResMed:
1) https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... idair.html
2) https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-dre ... chine.html
Why would you be fearful of something which could bring this to an end?? --->sleepsound85 wrote:fearful of the mask and cpap machine

Fearful as it makes her think of hospital machines and such is what she says which I get to a point but it is hard for me to get any support from her in this and she is so stubborn which just makes it that much more difficult for me during this time as I am sure no body ever really wants to go in a CPAP device for the rest of their life or until they can correct the issue if that is even possible In Their situation

Keep your chin up. You can build a better life once your CPAP therapy works well, and you pay back your sleep debt.sleepsound85 wrote:Fearful as it makes her think of hospital machines and such is what she says which I get to a point but it is hard for me to get any support from her in this and she is so stubborn which just makes it that much more difficult for me during this time as I am sure no body ever really wants to go in a CPAP device for the rest of their life or until they can correct the issue if that is even possible In Their situation

as Granny says, your question is like saying "I've been looking at two cars: Ford and Honda"sleepsound85 wrote:i have my visit with the sleep specialist on tuesday and have been looking at to machines and would like some input as i assume i will have to choose one on that day as well

I like Civics. Never owned a Pinto. Fortunately. I understand Ford has made a good car of the Escort.

If the Resmed Airsense 10 is an AUTOSET, or an AUTOSET FOR HER, great!
If it is an ELITE, still good, but not so great.
If it is a "CPAP" do not accept it under any circumstances.
That is what we call a BRICK, synonym for square rock, useful to break windows.
