F&P Sleepstyle 254 not working anymore?

Since last fall I've been having clusters of intense fatigue during the afternoons for no apparent reason.

Well, I think I finally figured out what it is. Turns out my AHI has been well over 20 for months, even while using my Sleepstyle 254. It is getting old but as far as I can tell it's still working, in that it's providing pressure and altering it up and down (well, except for that period for a month or two where I was an idiot and somehow set it to 8-8.5.

But anyways, now it's going between 9 and 13 and I'm still getting an AHI over 20.

But here's the weird part. I finally got the old Performance Maximizer software to work properly with Windows 7, and my machine doesn't appear to be reporting leaks at all anymore. It's basically 15 l/min...and totally flat. I know at one point it was working fine since my early experiences were with dealing with leaks.

Any suggestions? Is the leak compensation probably wrecked, which is making the whole machine malfunction, or is there a setting I may have accidentally turned off.

What about the idea of getting a new machine? There are some good deals on ResMed and Respironics machines, and you can use the free and excellent Sleepyhead software.

I agree with Granny... check this website out. Trying to squeeze extra life out of an old, possibly failing machine, is penny wise, pound foolish IMO:

Also, when Win 10 updates arrive (or are forced on you * see the last entry in my signature line) it's very likely that your old Sleepstyle software will not adapt to the new OS... can't say for certain but it's a distinct possibility. Maybe somebody else can relate their experience on that.

Why would I have, over the course of about 30 days gone from 3-6 AHI to 20+ consistently? And how would or could the 'flatlined' leak detection affect that?

I mean, I'm even going to a pressure of 15 last night (which we found was untenable) and _still_ I'm getting AHI 15-20+.

Wouldn't these things just...stop working entirely? Or can they start reporting incorrect results?

Not so much a burden... something you enjoy shouldn't be a burden. My head used to hold all the quotes, however now that old age is creeping up I find I have to save them in digital format. I do love my quotes, but when I can no longer find them by searching in my MSword file THEN I'll willingly let that 'burden' go

Just to follow up, it looks like the culprit was my mask. Specifically the cushion...it got old.

I'm using a loaner mask from the local company and my AHI is back down to single digits now. Still a bit higher, but that's probably still due to the machine failing to detect leaks. But I'm in the process of getting a new machine now.

Good news is that this machine isn't totally useless.
