Try using it in the daytime. You must train your brain it's normal to wear a mask. For most of us the chance to live is enough. Jim

I have to breath against what ever pressure it is using. Breathing against 24 is not easy.. I may not be using the correct terms. I have Central and obstructive . Have not slept well for years . If I take a sleeping pill I take the mask off in my sleep. The p10 mask slides up and down on my fine slick hair. Have tried many of the nose masks. Can't handle the full face mask. Smothering. Nose hurts with air blasting into it. Dries it out to the point of pain. Also ears start to hurt. I've been doing this for 4 years. Ready to give up. May try another mask.

Is it actually a Philips/Respironics System One model? Respironics (before they were acquired by Philips) made one of those models.
Which one does yours look like?
This one? (the newer one)
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-60- ... anced.html
or, this one? (the older one)
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/remsta ... chine.html
That is alot of pressure.
Do you actually get some sleep before you take it off?
Are you monitoring your therapy with software......like Sleepyhead?

Re: Can not get used to cpac
I have the newer one. I have tried to get doc to lower pressure , he will not. No I have not used the software. I will download it and try it out. I do sleep some but as pressure ramps it wakes me. Or nose pain wakes me. I have laid awake for hours with the mask on in hopes of going back to sleep.

Welcome to the forum Here are a couple of tips to help with the P10 strap sliding up:
1. Try pulling your hair up over the back band strap (as if you were going to make a ponytail), then letting your hair fall down over the back strap - some members have reported success with this;
2. Try sewing a piece of Velcro (the scratchy part) into the back strap, so that it touches your hair (where the strap would be.)
As for ramp & sleeping- how long is your ramp set for? Are you using your humidifier? That may help with nose pain, but Wulfman knows a lot more about your machine adjustments than I do Hang in there

I don't have the experience to help you but I do want to let you know you have come to the right place and have some very knowledgeable people that are already on the job.girlcat59301 wrote:I have ha my machine for 4 years. A couple things that will help you get the answers you are looking for.
1. List everything on your signature line, that is very helpful
2. Download Sleepyhead software get a few nights with it and post a picture of your results, many here can help you with this if you need it.
3. You will need to take control of your own healthcare, your doctor may or may not be correct about your settings. After looking at your results some of the more experienced here might make suggestions for things you should try and how to make changes to your machine. Keep in mind, these folks are not doctors and are only giving an opinion of what they might do if it were them, they are not telling you to make changes. I know it is all I can do to get my doctor to even look at my results and he has never offered changes. When he sees the changes I have made he has always said, yes, that seems to be helping, keep it up.
4. Don't give up, you can get through this and there is great help to be found right here.

Re: Can not get used to cpac
The manuals are available online. Take total control.
My sleep doctor started every one off at low pressures, stating that the first month is all about learning to sleep with the mask and machine and not about therapy.
If you can take total control at this point I would lower the pressure and sleep that way until you master it. Then slowly start increasing it until you are where the software says you should be.
Remember diabetics at age 6 control their very dangerous drugs all by themselves. We are talking about taking control of the air you need to breathe - AIR!!!!
You can totally do this!
