Traveling to Rome - CPAP Power Concerns

Post by piperjoe68 » Fri Apr 08, 2016 10:07 am

I am traveling to Rome this June with my wife, and I am concerned about running the device on Italian power. I know that I need a plug adapter - but do I need a voltage converter, and, if so, what kind/where do I buy, etc? I am REALLY nervous about this because, obviously, the CPAP is a) very pricey and b) my lifeline. Anyone have any experience with this?

Look at the plate on the bottom or back of your machine. (Remove the water tank first)
Many cpap are rated for both 110 and 220 volts. You may only need a plug converter.
But ask the DME/manufacturer.

If you look on the underside of your existing PR power adapter, you should see '100-240v' - meaning it adjusts to voltage in that range. Italy is on 230v.

You might also try the search facility at the top of your screen - you'll find it under the 'cpaptalk.com'

You may find your questions have been answered before.

I would be more concerned with the court system there than the power supply

you might wind up burned at the stake.
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!
