Phillips Resp. System One Blower Issues. Repair Ideas? Help.

Post by Team5D » Fri Apr 08, 2016 9:03 am

Hello, have a 'just out of warranty' system one that is exhibiting unusual blower issues before putting on the mask. It goes at a normal speed for a few moments then drops down then comes up and drops down etc. I put on the mask but concerned the air pressure might not be enough even though I can't feel a difference. Should this be sent in for repair somewhere or is it as simple as taking it a part and replacing the fan or some key components? Any help, experience or recommendations are appreciated.

How does it behave if you put on the mask and then turn it on?

If it comes down to it.... try these folks. I've used them:

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Sort of hard to tell if the air pressure falls when the mask is on. When the mask is off it's like a yoyo. Until recently, everything was running fine. Is the blower the issue on these? Thanks for the repair link.

Probably not. Could be a sensor or internal hose connection.
What "Series" is it? 50 or 60?

By the way, when you have the mask off, it's hard telling how it's going to act.
You can do a "homemade manometer" test with a bucket of water and a ruler marked in centimeters to test the output.
Go up to the Search line and put in "homemade manometer" and start reading. Look for the one by the forum member "tomjax". I've also referenced it many times over the years, too.

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

When not wearing the mask, shouldn't "unusual blower issues" be expected?
