Just got new Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet

Post by bono1 » Wed Apr 06, 2016 1:54 pm

Coming from the Resmed s9 elite I have had for the past 5+ years I was looking forward to the new Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet. The s9 was a good machine and got its fair share of workout. It did its job well. Initial impressions is that the Airsense 10 is small and light. I managed to get the climate Airline tube as well. I tried it out initially and the machine is very quiet compared to the s9. I am happy I picked up the autoset. Definitely worth paying a bit extra over the cpap to get the Autoset.

I like the fact that you can now see your sleep results online via Resmed's website. Now I can really monitor my sleeping patterns.

Hopefully this machine lasts me as well as the S9 did. At least now I have the S9 has a backup/travel machine!

There is a consensus in the forum that myAir is next to useless. Maybe even worse than useless because it gives the poorly informed the impression it is a good tool for monitoring their therapy.

The forum monitoring and analysis tool of choice is Sleepyhead software - https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead

I am still in awe of how quiet this machine is. I always thought my PRS1 was quiet, but I could HEAR it all the time. I can't HEAR this one even if I try except if I focus hard I can hear a little sound conducted in the DreamWear tube in front of my ear.

My husband often asks "are you Darthed yet?" (He can no longer hear, anyway, because of hearing loss). I told him he can't call me Darth anymore, because this machine doesn't make any sound. Hooray!!!

I agree that myAir is worse than useless. I feel sorry for people who think they should sleep longer to get more points, or they can see anything from two weeks' data. Sleepyhead is the only way to go.

I'm investigating getting AirSense to replace my S9. I have a climateline hose with my S9. Is it compatible with Airsense?

no the S9 hose heated hose will not fit the airsense 10 .... but there is one available for it .
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

I've been using my SleepyHead software and have a question -- I see numbers and details, but does the happy face actually
indicate that all is well for the night?

Great to hear about the noise, as well as the size--I've had the S9 and I've switched jobs since I got my S9 and onto new insurance, my doctor prescribed me the AIrSense hoping that the new insurance will approve it (even though I"ve had the S9 only for two years)

A smaller size and a quieter machine would both be welcome, although I love my pink S9 and have relied on it since I was diagnosed....

I switched from the S9 Autoset to an A10 Autoset last week. The new machine is really great. It's quieter for sure, smaller(Fits nicely on my table, and the hose is now in a better location), and the pressure feels a little "nicer". The fact that the LCD adjusts brightness based on the room, the small night light in the main button, and the fact that they moved the screen to the front so you can see it laying down, is all fantastic.

But as others have said, MyAir is worse than useless for the most part. It only gives you very high-level details, that you see on the machine anyway. It's basically just built to check your compliance. So the only thing I'd use it for, is to see if it's worth pulling the data into Sleepyhead.

So enjoy the new machine!

Been using the Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet for about a week now. The machine is really great. It is very quiet and I am waking up feeling better. The Myair results, though very simple, show that I am scoring well with very little leaks. those that are thinking of getting the Resmed, consider getting the autoset. especially since this machine will will last another 5 years plus

What do you see by logging into that system that is not readily available on the machine display?

Nothing. Here's what it shows from my data:

You can then go to a 14 day overview of each. Basically just a timeline for each.

I normally get AHI's of 0.2 to 0.5, but I've been watching the average pressure and it was pretty close to the max set, so I raced it 1 cm/H2O and then another. My AHI's have been 0.0 the last few nights, leaks very low. I'm not getting enough hours of sleep (6-6.5 because lots of life happening) so I'm a little tired, but I sure feel like I'm getting great quality sleep. This machine is awesome!
