Neck and head pain

Post by Linda1904 » Mon Mar 28, 2016 6:25 am

I am using the Resp Amara View Mask. I like it a lot, however, I wake up every morning with the back of my head and my neck in almost unbearable pain. Last night I decided to sleep without using C-pap machine and the pain is 90% gone. I have a Sys one 560 Auto-set with a setting of 10 to 15. I am a mouth breather so I have switched to a full face mask for that reason. I wonder if I could use a nasal pillow mask with a chin strap since it doesn't seem to have that strap at the lower back of the head. I would appreciate any and all suggestions. Thank You very much.

Hi Linda,
Sometimes my neck will hurt from my strap, I use a FF mask also. I just loosen the straps some till I get it corrected. It never hurts to try different masks, just that I found the FF resmed gives me the best readings with less leaks. Hope you find what works for you...

Might be a postural thing, rather than the head gear, if you are sleeping soundly and not moving that can cause pain, or if you are sleeping differently to accommodate the mask - so worth thinking about that, and maybe different pillow set up.

I am pretty sure I have the straps as loose as possible. Thank you for suggestions. What pillow set ups do you use?
