Question about pressure changes

Post by Tmommy4 » Sun Mar 20, 2016 9:54 am

So it's still going well for me - I feel great most of the time and my AHIs are consistently below 1. I have a question that's mainly my own curiosity because I like to understand why things are. I'm sure my machine is doing its job.

I'm starting to pay attention on the graphs when the pressure changes occur. I know that when I have an obstructive apnea it increases the pressure, as it did for my 3 obstructive apneas on this night. And when I have a clear airway, it does not increase pressure.

My question is why it would increase the pressure when I am not having a respiratory event? As it did between 22:30 and 00:00 here. Like I said, I am just curious and trying to understand.

Thanks!!

The increased pressure may have stopped an event from happening.

Oh of course! That's why my AHI is so much lower. That makes total sense. Thank you.

as far as the machine is concerned, snoring and flow limitations are things it worries about too, so look at those charts.
