Cpap and use of Mosquito Netting in Africa
Re: Cpap and use of Mosquito Netting in Africa
So were you able to figure out how to get the hose through the netting but stay safe from mosquitos and scorpions, etc? I'll be using mosquito netting with my CPAP and oxygen line next week in Ecuador--hoping I can pull out the netting edge from under the mattress, put my hose and oxygen line through it, then push the edge of the netting back under the mattress and around the tubing. Does that make sense? Let me know if you figured out how to do it! THANKS!

Wasn't aware Zika was in Africa... but it is in N. America now, so unless someone lives in their bathroom covered in DDT or something forever, it's going to be hard to 'just stay home'.

Ecuador is not in Africa. Andesgal is going to Ecuador, not Africa.Julie wrote:Wasn't aware Zika was in Africa... but it is in N. America now, so unless someone lives in their bathroom covered in DDT or something forever, it's going to be hard to 'just stay home'.
UPDATED:
Zika was first discovered in Uganda in 1947 and IS in Africa and Asia, but the recent outbreak in the Western Hemisphere in May along with the issues newborns is somewhat of a mystery still.
Caution should be taken and you should protect yourself, Mosquito's also spread dengue, yellow fever and West Nile virus as well.

And which countries have the money it takes to control mosquitos?
I think Ecuador may not be one of them.

There is a pretty good article in the NY Times about the Zika virus, where it is, what it does and how it spread over 50 years and why all of a sudden it is a big issue when it wasn't before.

I had to postpone my trip , and plan to go in the Fall, so will be interested in your experience.Andesgal wrote:So were you able to figure out how to get the hose through the netting but stay safe from mosquitos and scorpions, etc? Why do you have an oxygen line, in addition to the cpap ?
