But still seem a little off and not the completely the same.

A little tweaking for Sleepyhead or is it how they both figure out the hours of a night use?
yes.

Why would I make such stuff up??
Racprops, when something happens around you, the rabid squirrel that chitters around in your head latches onto the first thing it sees, no matter how wrong, or nonsensical it is, and will not let go.

when someone, who works daily with the software author, tells you that your statement alleging that the beta1 copy of sleepyhead DOES NOT DOWNLOAD UPDATES, instead of you going "well, it did something, what might it have been? it showed xxx on the screen".... no, you start pitching a hissy fit and proclaim even louder that your mistaken view of reality must be true.

rational people would think "hmm, maybe what I *THOUGHT* was an update using up my bandwidth wasn't... maybe "upgrade it's database" for my cpap means the data format has changed (it has) and the backed up data has to be reprocessed... (which is what is plainly stated on the window above.)

however, as mentioned in another thread, thanks to you, and your confusion, the wording of the update screen will be changed, to *REBUILD* and a few other bits reworded.

hopefully, this will help avoid further confusion for you when the next beta comes out, which may very well include an updated working data format, and thus require rebuilding.

Rich
Which particular items give you different readings?

If it's hours of use, SleepyHead has an option that ignore short sessions. There's also an option to combine close sessions, which I think affects the time that SH starts a new "day." This might affect your readings. There's an option in files->Preferences to change these options.

I am attempting to download my data for the first time from a Dreamstation. I successfully downloaded the Apple version of Sleepyhead, built a profile, and inserted my SD card as directed. When I attempt to import files I get a screen message: "Couldn't find any valid machine data at/volume NoName."

I retried this step several times. Same result. I removed the card and quit Sleepyhead. I reopened Sleepyhead and tried again. Same message.

When I click on the data card I get a dialogue box that says, "Point the importer at the root folder or drive letter of your data card. I do not know what this means.
Please help.

when you insert the sd card on your mac, how/where does it show up?

perhaps a new drive shows up, one with a directory P-Series in it.. sleepyhead should be pointed at whatever location the P-Series folder is in, not in the P-Series folder itself.

It shows up on my desk top as "NoName." When I click on Import I get a screen message saying, "A PRS1 file was located at /Volumes/NO Name
Would you like to import from this location? If I click yes, I get the "NO valid machine files..." message. If I click specify, I get a panel with Open at top and a P-series file shown. That file expands to a numerical file which expands to a file with D, E,and PO files. On the left are shown devices, where the NO Name Card is shown.

A screen message pops up when I click Import and appears to say something about a file, but it is instantaneous and is immediately covered by the message re: the PRS1 file. I cannot see it long enough to read it.

Instructions please.

please verify for me the version information that's shows at the top left border in the sleepyhead window, or on the 'help/about' screen.

that version came out about a year before the dreamstation, so it doesn't support the dreamstation, you need to download the latest beta from here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepy ... Snapshots/ get the macos one, of course.

Palerider,
Thank you. Data now downloaded. It will take me a while to look through the last month of usage. Will try to pick a date to post and seek information and advice for improved therapy results.
