Am I Thinking Correctly or Way Off Path

Post by sleepwiggler » Sun Feb 28, 2016 5:01 pm

Hi All,

It's been a month or so since I have posted. Things have been going good since new doctor changed things. I have more energy and the desire to get things done and it feels great. Not every day is a bowl of cherries but for the most part I am better.

Quick Question: If I take my events and add the times together does that give me the amount of sleep interrupted by my apnea?
For example last night AHI of 2.09 (highest in about 3 months). I took all the AH events and added them together and came up with 267 seconds which is 4.45 hours.
So back to my question does that mean that I spent roughly half my night assuming an 8 hour night in some type of apnea state?

If my assumptions are correct that seems like a lot compared to an AHI of 2.09. I am looking it at like this to be flagged it has last 10 seconds or longer. For simplicity assuming each event is 10 seconds with an average of 2.09 per hour that is 20.9 seconds per hour. I slept 9.34 hours ( 560.40 seconds) which means that that about half of my sleep was spent in an AH state.

So am I off base here?

How many seconds in an hour .... 60sec X 60min = 3600 sec in an hour ???
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

I knew I was missing something here. It seemed to simple.
Thanks for pointing out my mistake there. Banging head on desk now for missing that.

Makes more since now that I look at it that way and does not sound or look as bad as I had thought.
Forget on step and it throws the whole equation off.
Thanks again
