I am up for a new cpap or apap machine.

Which is the best one to get today?

Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset or Autoset for Her. Or Dreamstation Auto.

Or if you're really luck- Resmed Aircurve 10 Vauto.

or if you want to save some money on 'last years model' a S9 autoset, (for her optional, but cheaper) or a S9 vpap auto

the S9 line is so good, that the only thing (except for the autoset for her model) that resmed could do to them was put them in a different case.

I like My ResMed also but wanted to add that Respironics is easier to go camping with because it is 12 volt and can be run off battery easier. That's why I use Respironics as backup.

You can get a new machine every three years? Most insurances will allow for one after five (and that's IF they allow it).

There are lots of pros and cons with every manufacturer and models. Do lots of "homework". But, it appears that you're already using a P/R System One.

Since your current machine is a Respironics one, be aware that some (not very many) folks who are happy with their current machine are unhappy after a switch because the algorithms are somewhat different. If you are inclined to switch to ResMed or some other brand, see if you can get a loaner for a week or so on the new brand and find out if you are one of the hypersensitive folks who really notice the difference.

There is information and details in the Useful Links in my signature line at the end of this post. Check it to find which machines to avoid.

I'll agree that the AirSense 10 machines are fine but they aren't enough of an improvement over the S9 models to matter, especially if you save some money on the S9. I slightly prefer ResMed over Philips.

I'd skip the DreamStation models until we have a little more experience. They look pretty good so far, but you never want version 1 of a new computer based machine. I'd also skip them until SleepyHead is updated to work with them. I also don't see any big advantage of the DreamStation over the PRS1 models.

Just got the ResMed Airsense 10 auto after 5+ years on the PRS1. I like it, but not sure how it compares to the newer PRs.

The algorithm is definitely different, but I had no trouble sleeping with it last night which was my first night.
