Yet Resmed comes along and says the opposite is true so they need to raise internet retailer prices by 40%. They've got it all wrong. If service was truly their concern, they would be penalizing those DMEs for providing woefully inadequate service and rewarding cpap.com instead of the other way around.

Oh, the irony.

Only the first time or only if they don't know any better.
You said it, Paul B! When we were first prescribed CPAP and didn't know there was an alternative, we were herded off to our local DME like a bunch of sheep. No one mentioned the fact there was a better and cheaper alternative with superior service and education. Go figure.

I feel sorry for all the people out there who still don't know better.

The only way to fight Remed's financial model is to NOT buy Resmed--complain to your DME--tell your sleep doctor and all other people on CPAP to not BUY Resmed and tell everyone not to buy their stock!

Also keep trashing Resmed here until the end of time and create a PR nightmare for them!

I am not an enemy of Resmed or thier products--I am an enemy of anyone in the healthcare industry that wants to create artificial closed markets that do nothing more than drive up the cost of healthcare and healthcare products!

This ISN'T SOCIALIZED medicine--it's letting the market work which is what most Republicans would be for and it is for lower prices which most Democrats would be for.

Everyone should be against Resmed!

It is the MORAL thing to do!
Bravo!

who wins? CPAP websites or Resmed?

answer: No one wins if we don't work together. Complain to your insurance company if you don't think you are getting proper treatment. BUT unless you are on this website, you won't know how shabby your treatment is.

Or complain to your family doctor or lung specialists? I don't think the AMA cares about anyone but the AMA. Maybe write your congressional rep. Ask what committees make the laws for this industry and tell us. We can all right them and that is how things are changed. It can work if we will make an effort. OK, gotta be careful getting off my soap box.

Artwood....I agree with you. I won't. My family won't. All at once, since I got my machine, the wife got one, and three of our kids told us they have similar problems.

If a company supports things I feel strongly about, I don't buy that product.

Look friends who already have Resmed products:

If it works for you go ahead and keep it! I would nevwer be against any products that help anyone get a good night sleep.

All I'm saying is that if you don't already have Resmed products WHENEVER you decide to buy another product--TRY ANYTHING else that ISN'T Resmed!

Nothing talks more than MONEY! If people don't BUY Resmed they will change--in fact--that's the only thing that will make them change--

BUT THERE'S MORE TO DO!

Get in contact with every other manufacturer and TELL them that if they do what RESMED does they will nevwer get your buisness either!

If you buy a product from another company wruite them and tell them that one of the reasons you bought their product was because they didn't use tactics like RESMED!

If I had to bet I'd look for RESMED to try to go to Congress with a bunch of INTERNET horror stories--

CONTACT Democrats in Congress who would be dead set against higher prices for health care and

CONTACT Republicans who would be dead set against Resmed working against an OPEN MARKET!

Tell every stockholder that you know that you heard that people were getting ready to UNLOAD Resmed stock because of this controversey.

If you're going to FIGHT the POWERPLAYERS like Resmed you fight them with the politicains that make the rules in Congress and you fight them on the MONEY side by not buying their products and telling people to SELL their stock!

They can be defeated by the Mighty American Citizen who cares for his or her fellow Sleep Apnea sufferers here at the great CPAP talk forum.

RESMED thinks that the AARP is powerful--they haven't seen anything yet! Some of those same people will aid us in this crusade against the greedy vultures of Resmed!

God Bless America!

So any misrepresentation is OK in order to achieve your personal crusade. Very sad!
