Re: Views on vaping and electronic cigarettes
Think some of the different ingredients in cannabis are said to be beneficial for certain things. Can't remember which is which thc or cbd but I've read that they can help with pain sleep appetite and eye problems amongst other things. I smoked cigarettes and cannabis for about 30 odd years i admit I've had a couple of time's in the recent past I've gone and smoked again not too proud and really prefer not to smoke at all. Will eventually quit the vaping to just about out of e liquid and will put the vaping devices away do have an 18mg e juice will put that away with the devices and strive to not use them. In all honesty though i see both vaping and e cigarettes as a useful tool for quitting cigarettes so wouldn't want to see them banned in any way.
Re: Views on vaping and electronic cigarettes
I quit smoking cigarettes by using Commit Lozenges & Nicorette Gum. I then used them as surrogate sources of nicotine for quite a long period after stopping smoking. It was hard to kick nicotine in any form for me. I now have a slight wheeze and a spot of "scarring" on the bottom lobe of my right lung that needs to be watched by a pulmonologist periodically. If the asteroid extinction event ever is definitely coming to Earth..... I'm buying a couple cartons of Marlboros immediately ! (to settle my nerves) Best of luck to all who're tryin' to quit !

Regarding usage, what is the difference between an "e" and "vap"?

jonny515 wrote:Some of the market for vaping IS cannabis. There are cannabis extracts, as well as CBD oil. But I believe most people would vape the whole herb. It's supposedly more therapeutic for pain or severe anxiety to vape, because it goes into your blood stream immediately and not broken down by the liver. I smoked for more than 50yrs and was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2011. I still use an eCig with 6mg nicotine level today and it is a mental thing. Pulmonologist says that is part of reason for my throat irritation (not just the copd or reflux) and to quit totally - easier said than done.
If you want to know where I'm coming from, 2012 is what I have always considered the most damnable year of my life. I did some posts on it.sleepyhead6867 wrote:Think some of the different ingredients in cannabis are said to be beneficial for certain things. --Helping my parents move 50 years of stuff
--Dad in a nursing temporarily several times, and in the hospital several times.
--Both parents and my husband in the hospital. Thankfully, that was spread out over time.
My body did a meltdown. As a result, I had transient global amnesia, followed by seizures and panic attacks.
--In September, Mom was diagnosed with shingles, and I had another seizure. As a result, I lost my driving privileges. So, I spent 6 weeks living with my parents. Several times, hubbs picked me up to rest.
Now, let's switch to 2016: Looking like a repeat of 2012
--Dad is in a nursing home rehab for various reasons and is not being compliant. This continues, hospice is taking over if you know what I mean. He has end-stage liver disease.
--Mom is having a very delicate surgery on her spinal cord/neck. I'm getting her ready before surgery (finances, legal stuff, what to do with Dad, etc.). Told my therapist last week, now is the time where I'll be seeing her more often. She understood.
--Father-in-law who had a stroke in 2008 was recently diagnosed with a tumor the size of a golf ball, and is now at the end of his chemotherapy/radiation treatment.
--Mother-in-law hit and ran over a woman couple weeks ago. They're now considering moving elsewhere for various reasons. Thankfully, there are other family members who will be helping this transition.

Several weeks ago, I asked the forum about medical marijuana.
I'll be damned if I'm to going to have another/or several seizures and lose my driving privileges over what's going on now.
On that note, I decided to give myself permission to proceed with the medical marijuana:
--Edibles for sleep (THC)
--Vapor (CBT) for those times when I need to be calm
On a side note, recently I have had small panic attacks. I realize that somewhere in my body, its beginning to stress again, which I haven't told anyone.
Jonny515 & Sleepyhead: You are correct in the therapeutic side of cannabis, which is the reason I started.
NOTE: If you're curious what transient global amnesia is, go to youtube and do a search for "Is It Tuesday Yet"?
Re: Views on vaping and electronic cigarettes
I was a little misquoted here (though it's VERY easy to do this). I never smoked tobacco (okay for a month), I do vape CBD (hemp) and take CBD drops. It's been very helpful. Vaping is very helpful as 1-2 good puffs and it immediately decreases anxiety.
Yes there are a lot of benefits of cannabis medically. I'm of the age where to me it's all medical. Not really interested in the "high" (though CBD does not produce a high).

They are the same thing, When these became available they were called E-cigarettes, then E-cig and that is when the Gov wanted to start taxing it.. To stop them from being able to do that the name became "personal Vaporizer" with a warning that these devices are in no way a "stop smoking aid"Starlette wrote:Regarding usage, what is the difference between an "e" and "vap"?
Here are some crazzy percentages for stopping smoking..
tabacco free: 95% fail to stop smoking http://www.tobaccofree.org/quitlinks.htm
webmd: 19 to 26% quite with aid's http://www.webmd.com/smoking-cessation/ ... tches-gums
I have personally given vaporizers to 6 people, 5 of them started using them and have not touched another cigarette. the 6th one did not want to quite, but I tried anyway... I have 4 other friends that have quite also, so the percentage for stopping smoking for people I know is.....
90% stopped
