Life with Sleep Apnea starts getting better the minute you decide you can and MUST succeed at treating it successfully for LIFE.
For the best outcome, treating it needs more, you must maximize your treatment for the best outcome, why would you want less than to be the best you can be.
The main obstacle to successful treatment is De-Nile, until YOU decide to make XPAP treatment work for YOU, it won't. Sure it's uncomfortable to deal with, most things in life are, and as we age, dealing involves more and more problems. We are supposed to get better at dealing with what's needed as we mature, some do but many of us fail. Failing is easy, so we get good at it.
Treating your Sleep Apnea with XPAP, while it takes effort and is a bother, it can provide a longer more satisfying life, all that's required is effort and air. Jim
Does it ever get any better?

Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!

Yes it gets better, but it can be a struggle. Our power went out last night with some storms and I didn't wake up to see my machine had turned off. This morning was a horrible reminder of what life was like before CPAP. All I can say is UGH!!! While my treatment is not yet maximized, you couldn't pry my machine out of my cold, dead hands.
I know you are tired and frustrated, but you need to keep at it. Whenever I am overwhelmed with technical or computer issues, I always ask the young ones and they always seem to know the answer. So if you have kids or grandkids, or just a young friend, ASK FOR HELP!

Heh-I have a young friend, but he wants me to learn this stuff for myself. He plans to move to Seattle soon,so I suppose I'll have to learn a lot of tech stuff for myself.

Re: Does it ever get any better?
This doesn't directly relate to the CPAP device but I cured my nighttime acid reflux problem by simply eating earlier. I quit eating anything for at least 4 hours before retiring and I haven't had any problems since.

Good for you! You can check one off the list.RestlessSleeper wrote:This doesn't directly relate to the CPAP device but I cured my nighttime acid reflux problem by simply eating earlier. I quit eating anything for at least 4 hours before retiring and I haven't had any problems since.
You may want to start to figure out the best bed pillows and height. I think a lot of people who have been doing this a long time will tell you that it takes some trial and error to get your head at the right elevation for comfort and therapy.
