Sleepyhead help

Post by red_roni » Mon Jan 18, 2016 1:03 am

I am not sure if this is the place to post this question. If not, sorry. I have been looking for quite some time and have not found what I am looking for.

Thanks ahead of time for any help I can get with this problem.

Here are my questions.

1. Does Sleepyhead work with ResMed Airsense 10 CPAP?

2. If so when I import my data from the SD card, why am I get the frowny face that says, " Brick and I am very sorry but your machine doesn't record useful data to graph in daily view?" Are there settings that I need to change?

3. Is there a place for support for Sleepyhead? I checked on the Sleepyhead website. I looked at the bugs and tickets, but wasn't able to find anything that applied to my problem.

4. I am using Sleepyhead version v0.9.8-1-Testing Open GL. Is this the correct version?

5. If I am not able to use Sleepyhead, is there another software that is compatible? I do use the myair on the Resmed website, but the information is very limited.

I started my therapy on 12/28/2015 and have a lot to learn.

Thanks again.

  1. no, the CPAP model is a dataless brick, it records nothing of value, take it back.
  2. you need an ELITE or AUTOSET model
  3. here is close enough
  4. yes
  5. there's no useful data recorded from your brick.
go back, be angry, demand a real machine.

Well I am irritated now. I was told by my sleep specialist that since I had United Health Care, I could get the better machine. Since I am new at this, I thought it was a better machine. I have had this machine since 12/23/2015. Do you think I will even be able to trade it in for another machine? I did trade my mask for a different mask without having to pay anything. Should I call my insurance company first? I am not sure where to go from here. What machine specifically should I ask them for? I am so confused now.

My machine does say AirSense 10 CPAP. I thought it was Autoset when I did my profile. I will correct that now.

Call your doctor tomorrow.
Tell him they gave you a "brick", no data.
Ask him to write a prescription that specifically identifies the machine you want.

The Airsense 10 autoset For Her is a great machine.
The Airsense 10 autoset is a great machine.
The Elite is good too.

The Airsense 10 autoset For Her gives you the most options.

Get the prescription, drive to the DME, be assertive.
Tell them you are returning your machine in exchange for the machine specifically ordered by your doctor.
Tell them your doctor needs data in order to evaluate the effectiveness of your treatments.

The Airsense 10 Cpap has very limited data, not sufficient to evaluate treatment effectiveness.

the more telling info is where she said she had the CPAP model, and more importantly, where SleepyHead said it was a brick, which it wouldn't do if it were an autoset

what's your problem with SH?

playing intensely irate customer at the DME is probably better. you haven't even had it a month, and they're foisting off bottom of the line crap on you. your insurance pays the same to them whether it's the autoset for her (which you should have) or it's the crap CPAP model.... which is why they want to dump the crap on you.

I got my machine from my sleep doctor. I will be going to their office tomorrow. I will tell the lady who gave me the machine, that I was supposed to get the better machine. If she doesn't give me the better machine, I will make an appointment with my doctor for this week. I was already irritated with the service I had received from her. She has not returned my phone calls more than once. I really like my doctor but he needs to know what is going on with his staff. Should I call my insurance and make sure they will pay for the autoset model? I hope that this is not going to be a problem since I got my machine last year. I did not have to pay for it since we had met our out of pocket maximum for last year.

I am really going to have a hard time sleeping tonight. Great.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Does anyone know what the insurance billing codes are for the better machines? Or is it the same code no matter which machine?

I have seen some codes in some of the posts, but I have no idea where I would find them.

I feel like they duped me because I didn't know any better.

there are more advanced machines with different codes, but the crap machine, the plain machine and the advanced machine all have the same billing code.

and, yes, you were duped.

Thank you so much for your help. I will post an update after I go to the doctor's office. I just know that the Doctor told me that I would be getting the better machine and I expect to get the better machine.
