Airsense 10 Auto -- Snored with First Use!

Post by vitomatt » Fri Dec 18, 2015 10:23 am

So last nite was my first time with my new Airsense 10 auto.... the settings were identical with my 5 year old Fisher Paykel 200 auto...
on several occasions i would hear myself snore as i feel asleep - which kept me awake. this NEVER happens with my Fisher-P.. In fact i switched to my Fisher in the middle of the nite and the problem stopped....

Any thoughts/suggestions ( I will increase my baseline setting)

thanks

matt

The 2 brands go about their jobs a little differently so the same pressure setting on one may not work exactly the same as on the other especially if using auto adjusting more. The algorithms that dictate machine response are just different.

Increasing the minimum pressure (that baseline) pressure is what I would do in this situation.

Snoring is a indicator of A apnea maybe going to occur.
Auto ramp pressure could be set to low or for two long is what I'm thinking. I use a 5 minute ramp starting at 6cm/o2 if that might help.

Hi. I'm the OP....
I turned up my baseline from 6 to 7.
Plus i reduced the EPR (that which allows the pressure to reduce when exhaling) from 3 to 1.
I think I was reducing the exhale pressure too much at the 3 setting -- at 1 it more closely matched what my Fisher Paykel was like.
Problem seems to have gone away.
Thanks for the suggestions!
