Best platform to use when selling used resp./CPAP eqipment?

Post by Tangent » Wed Dec 16, 2015 12:00 pm

Quick question.... I am curious to hear your opinions... What are the best platforms to use when selling used respiratory / CPAP equipment? I know, I know. Before you grill me on how I am supposed to be licensed. I already know that. With that being said, This question is for the people who are not going to grill me.

In my opinion: Craigslist then apena message boards. Please do everyone a favor and if you list your equipment, provide the exact make/model/hours used.

Also note that selling items that require a prescription is prohibited on Craigslist and eBay. I know Craigslist is pretty lax on screening listings and there is usually quite a bit of CPAP items listed. eBay I believe is a bit tougher.

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks for getting back to me Chris. You are right about Ebay. I have also been flagged by Ebay. I think if you sell a lot of non medical stuff on ebay, every now and again you can slip something medical by undetected. Thank you for your advice and as far as selling on these boards is there a section for that? and how does the method of transaction work?

Just tell us what you are selling. We like details. Make, model, serial #, hours on the blower, pictures. If it has been exposed to smoke, and pet hair. People use Paypal. Remember, we like bargains, and we compare the prices to http://www.secondwindcpap.com. It should be priced less than secondwind cpap , because they give a warranty.

they also buy used equipment.

You can sell NEW mask PARTS on Ebay. Mask parts do not require a prescription, but Ebay goes further to say medical supplies must be new, not used. You can offer lightly used items here. Otherwise, cpap machines can be sold on Craigslist. You'll never sell them if you use fantasy pricing. As mentioned, include exact model and run hours. Don't bother listing anything if you are going to use fantasy pricing. Remember, your items are USED, have no warranty and likely are older models.
