I wish I could find it, there is a fantastic paper out there that compares what studies actually say, versus how the media reports them. Here's the best I can do for now.

On the subject of ridiculous science, skunk essence has been suggested to help clear sinuses.

At the very moment when you want them to be clogged.

I wonder how many here will "get" this?

It's another example of high water usage caused by vegetables that I had not thought of.

It does seem to open mine up, I don't mind the smell in small concentrations.
I do understand your problems with it, where I worked in surface mining, it seems to attract them, we give them a lots of respect. It amazing how so little carries so far. Jim

Given the choice between working around skunks or rats, I'll take the skunks anyday, at least you know they are in the area. In Nam, we had rats the size of small dogs or big cats, they were fast, I made slings shots, to kill them, hit them but never killed one.

I went full vegan a few months ago and initially lost weight. However I slowly began eating food that was processed, or plain junk. Not to mention copious amounts of fried rice. The weight started coming back. Now I'm back on my low carb diet which I followed for about 13 years. One year of that period I ate only meat. I didn't lose but I didn't gain either, no matter how much fat I consumed. In 2008 I wanted to try to get ripped, so I went on an extreme zero carb/zero fat diet, using mostly boiled eggs. I lost initially 13 lbs. in two weeks and kept losing. I wuz skrawnee, my face looked like a hatchet but my torso showed definition. However I had a physical scheduled around that time and my cholesterol went up to 700.

You do all that to your body and wonder why you're not feeling better? You may now (?) be on a more balanced diet, but you may not be, and your e.g. protein or fiber intake may or may not be adequate, or a whole lot of other things... so what are you eating these days?

How much money did the meat industry give to these "researchers" behind the scenes?

The only thing I did that was detrimental was the overeating of eggs, which cleared up six weeks later when my cholesterol dropped 450 points. I am now eating low carb/low fat again, but without all the eggs, until my weight gets back down. Then I'll figure out what to do.

Right! Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University are shills for Big Meat. Shills! Shills! Shills!

And they are cheap shills. They settle for mere sides of fries.

I would demand a Big Mac a day.

Yes, how many?
I like eggs, but usually only have one, sometimes two, and then just for breakfast.

Build cities in deserts and marginal climates and then complain about not enough water? Methinks your problems are of your own making.

About six to eight a day. About 80 in two weeks. When I told my doctor that he was in the middle of typing out a prescription for a statin; having heard what I just said he stopped typing and stared off into the distance, as if he was processing what I said.
