Would like your help please
Going to buy a machine but can't decide. Looking at the PR system one 560 auto and the ResmedS10 auto. I have a set preasure machine right now. It will be my main machine and paying for it out of pocket. I know the Resmed is good but don't know much about the PR. Any help please? Thanks

The Resmed airsense 10 (not an S10) is the new model .. the old model is a S9 auto .
The PR560p is the old model ... they just recently came out with the DSX500H11 which is a auto cpap

all four of them are very good machines .... kinda like difference between Ford and Chevy.

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

What pressure are you using now?
What machine brand are you using now?
Are you currently using any form of exhale relief with your current machine now?
How big of a price difference between the 2 machines are you looking at? Is cost a huge factor?

Using a Resmed S8 set at 8. Doctor prescribed 6-10. Using EPR set at 2. Tried EPR off but could not tolerate it. Price difference about 300.00. Don't want to spend anymore than I have to but want to get one that will do the job and will hold up.

Was't considering the dream station because by what I have heard it doesn't support sleepyheads.

They are both fine machines and do a great job but they do go about their jobs a little differently.
I have used both and each has its own minor pros and cons. If your pressure needs were higher I would definitely lean towards the ResMed as I think it's EPR relief is maybe a little better at higher pressures...just a little better maybe.
It's really a toss up but in all honesty I tend to lean towards ResMed for my own personal preference and I have used both brands and in fact own a ResMed S9 bilevel and a PR S1 bilevel right now. I have also owned the model 560 so I have been there with apap was well.
The PR S1 560 is now considered a discontinued model...not that it hurts anything but the newer model came out in Oct of this year. The AirSense is the latest ResMed model and has been out since Aug of last year.
If it doesn't take food off the table I would go with the ResMed as I am confident that you won't be sorry especially since you are currently using a ResMed machine and familiar to and adjusted to the way the ResMed machines do their jobs. Some people don't do well when going between different brands that do their jobs differently. Our bodies get used to having things a certain way and when we change even though the change isn't necessarily bad, the body and to do the adjusting thing all over again. For some people that adjustment isn't as easy as others.
But the PR S1 isn't a crap machine by any means so it's a tough call.
If you want to consider the Dream Station don't let the lack of SleepyHead working with it stop you..
We can get you Encore Pro and it does work with those machines. Not as slick as Sleepyhead or as easy to work with but you can see what you need to evaluate therapy....if you really wanted the DreamStation or could maybe get some killer deal on one.

Re: Would like your help please
I recently had to choose a new machine and decided on AirSense. No regrets whatsoever. I was 100% used to it by the end of the first night. Love it.
