My doc found something similar to what you just described your wife had. I go in for biopsy on the 21st. This is on my back where I cant really see very good. Wishing your wife a speedy recovery.Sir NoddinOff wrote:poppi2 wrote:Sir NoddinOff wrote:.... Regular preventive checkups are really important for one's health.
As I recall, my wife's regular doctor spotted it on her head during a routine annual physical. A few years ago it was just a small white scaly pre-cancerous 1/4" patch, not really sore; it was frozen off with liquid nitrogen a few times (virtually painless) but always came back even tho my wife has worn a hat outside for at least two decades. Over the years it darkened, got bigger and had a raised appearance (still not sore)... that of course, led to a biopsy which is the definitive test for melanoma. I should add my wife's Mohs surgery was out-patient, painless and took 1.5 hrs.
My niece, a sun worshiper, let a melanoma go too long on her upper lip and they had to reconstruct part of her lip which wasn't pleasant. Luckily the cancer hasn't come back.

Re: OT Terminal Melanoma
Not all melanomas start off looking like a scaly patch or a mole that turns " funky". A melanoma can just appear. Please know your skin and have any changes checked.

Thanks, I didn't know that... I'll ask my skin doctor next time I see her.Kam23 wrote:Not all melanomas start off looking like a scaly patch or a mole that turns " funky". A melanoma can just appear. Please know your skin and have any changes checked.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
