I hope I'm not getting ahead of myself or being over optimistic, but after receiving my machine and sucessfully sleeping 2 night with it, I feel like I've been given new life again.
Turns out I got a Bi-Pap machine with a modem, and I'm using a nose mask, my setting are 13 breathing in and 9 breathing out. I haven't needed the chin strap yet, so I appear to be keeping my mouth shut.
Before my machine my night consisted of waking up about 2:30 for a restroom trip, then again at about 5. Severe dry mouth at night, and totally groggy in the morning.
Now, I already am having a continous night sleep, and a moist mouth in the morning.
The only negatives I may have so far is a little nose soarness at the bottom rim of my nose, and nose dryness. (maybe I need to up the humidifier, I believe it's on the second lowest setting.)
Also, I may be grinding my teeth now because my jaw is soar as if it was being compressed all night. The fact that I'm laying on my back the whole night, I have some neck soarness...I definitely need a better pillow.
But, back to the positives, I can't believe my refreshness and alertness already. I got up at 6 AM instead of hitting the snooze until 7 and showing up late for work. My head thinks faster, I can have better conversation with my co workers now instead of not even wanting to be bothered. It's scary to believe I was living how I was before, I feel like I've been given new life. But, I know I need to be on it more to really know how adjusted I really am to it.
Finally got my machine, after 2 days I already feel great

For the tender nose, Lansinoh it is found in the baby breast feeding area. Its used to treat chapped nipples for breastfeeding mothers. My first sign of success was also not needing 2-3 trips to the bathroom. Congrats on the introduction to life being a little better.

As my body recovered, It played a few tricks on me though. After completing my first month my body decided that 4 hours of good sleep was better than 12 hrs of trying to stay alive. And I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. Don't fight it, get up, do something. Make breakfast, enjoy a walk.
You will evently sleep longer as your body recovers.
If you decide to take a nap, MASK UP!

Thanks, yeah that's how I feel right now. I was right up at 6 and didn't want to go back to sleep. So finding extra hours in the day plus feeling is a double bonus.

Terrific, but I hope you aren't on your back all night because you think you need to be, or because you're afraid to move (which can lead to lots of soreness). Neither of those should be happening unless it's the only way you've ever slept.
