Cataract Surgery and CPAP
Cataract Surgery and CPAP
I'm told I'm not far from needing cataract surgery on both eyes. My concern is that with my high-pressure Bipap setting, my mask always seems to ride up and put pressure via my cheeks onto my eyeballs. I always have the aggravating dry eye-thick mucous from mask leaks, but I wondered if that indirect pressure from the mask might affect new lens implants immediate post-op. Does anyone have experience and hopefully reassurance about this?

Re: Cataract Surgery and CPAP
Had one eye done last year and the other 2 months ago, no problems at all. They give you a hard plastic patch to cover your eye with for a couple weeks, tape it in place and grab some zzzzz.
.
If your concerned ask your eye surgeon...hope all works out for you.

Re: Cataract Surgery and CPAP
Take your mask in and put it on for your eye doctor to see.
If there would be a problem, he/she will let you know.
My ophthalmologist says a lot of his patients use cpap.

Re: Cataract Surgery and CPAP
I never thought about it. I'm having my cataracts removed in a month, but I really don't have a problem with air in my eyes. I'll make sure I mention it to my doctor.

AND TAKE YOUR CPAP!!!!!!!!!! even if it is a fast surgery and minimal anesthesia. Read the recent thread started by the person worried about gall bladder surgery.
