Leg cramp, short hose, Velcro.... Lol

Post by metsfan302 » Sun Nov 22, 2015 6:13 am

What a way to get woken up, was having a great sleep actually able to sleep in - nope. One of those lock your calf up cramps! I jump up start stumbling/ hobbling around - thank god I put Velcro on machine and end table!!! Mask ripped off, almost got pulled back from the hose.....

Haha can laugh now but wow. Not a great way to wake up. So glad I used industrial Velcro on this asv or it would of been on the floor for sure!

Good tip!

I tend to roll back over the wrong way and wrap the hose underneath me. I need to stop that, otherwise I might suffer the same fate. Velcro was a good idea

Not a good idea. Instead, stay in the bed and gently move your toes toward your knee to stretch the calf muscle. At the maximum stretch, hold for a while and then repeat. This should give you some relief.

Are you staying well hydrated? Are you consuming too much common salt?

Have you tried taking potassium and magnesium to avoid leg cramps? I used to get awful leg cramps like that before I started taking potassium and magnesium before bed at night. Now, they are very rare.

I've also had good luck eliminating leg cramps both awake and sleeping by upping my daily dosage of potassium and magnesium to the FDA recommended doses... talk to your doctor about that because it's important to fine tune the results. Most people don't get enough ir absorb enough of the two minerals I mentioned above, mostly due to over-processed salt laden food sources. Too much salt intake tends to increase urination and thus eliminate more useful minerals from our system.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
