profile and post deleted?

Post by gr8mpg » Sat Nov 21, 2015 3:34 pm

I filled out my profile a while back and made a post today about a free kindle book "sleep secrets" and everything has been deleted; what gives? I don't think I've broken any rules!

Some members feel compelled to capriciously delete posts that they determine to be "spam". Not sure if that is what happened in your case or not. Just do it over and see if it sticks this time is my advice. Welcome to the asylum BTW !

FWIW, you maybe should fill out your profile data, might make you seem a little less like a "hit and run" poster.

Looks to me like someone deleted your post, not your profile, the post still shows up under your profile. Which is weird since it's gone.

Anyhow, I saw the thread and it looked to me like you were just trying to be helpful, didn't come off as spam at all.

Edit: I guess you mean a mod deleted the info out of your profile? That sure would be weird. Was there some advertisement link in it? If there was I sure didn't notice it. Looked about the same as it does now IIRC.

I redid my profile but it didn't display my machine and I had to add it to comments? I only made my original post to try and help folks on this forum. I have since read some of the book. I get regular email from bookbub on good kindle books (free and Pay for). I got the notice that "Sleep Secrets", "How to fall asleep fast, beat fatigue and insomnia and get a good nights sleep". The author has done a lot of research on sleep and mentions sleep apnea among other good items. In my opinion this is a must read. If you don't have a kindle, you can download the app for your phone or PC. I rechecked a few minutes ago and the book was still offered for free. If this post gets deleted this time, its just the members loss. I won't post the link this time so just go to Amazon and look up the title.

Thank you, I just ordered the book (still free) at Amazon. I'm looking forward to reading it.

gr8mpg,
Thanks for the tip. For some reason, the book was not in my daily email from Bookbub.

Since it was free I downloaded it just out of curiosity and FWIW, although he acknowledges apnea can be a serious issue (quacks always do that to avoid lawsuits) and advises people to consult their doctors, he then provides several apnea links to some of the biggest and most repugnant quacks on the Internet. The types of sites that tell people to cure everything from apnea to cancer naturally - causing people to die. Sorry, but not recommended and not a book by an expert, he's an MBA that runs several quack sites. He's evidently also an expert in how to treat the prostate "naturally", among other things. Evidently the key to that is getting his free ebook (seriously) "the guide to prostrate massage". http://www.naturalprostate.com/

The link for your particular machine model has been broken for a long time and never shows up - so don't connect that to the other deletion.

Here's one of the articles he links to in the back of the book. http://www.sleepapneaexercise.com/?hop=ph367

He's a dangerous quack and not a sleep expert of any type.

Thanks for pointing that out. It saves me the trouble of looking at it.

Maybe that is why someone delted gr8mpg's first post and link - they knew he was helping a quack distribute his book.

Here's a book by a real sleep doctor that many people swear by - http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss? ... eep+krakow

Sound Sleep, Sound Mind: 7 Keys to Sleeping through the Night

Dr Barry Krakow (Kraiko) is no longer the top sleep maven. This one took over:

John W. Winkelman, M.D., Ph.D
