First follow up 2 months in, what should I expect
First follow up 2 months in, what should I expect
I have been using a System one Series 60 with a Airfit P10 mask. Fixed pressure of 8. 100% compliance. AHI usually 0.3 with an occasional 0.1. Zero centrals and obstructions during the 2 months. Hypopneas the only issue roughly 1-3 per night. I would think I have been successful so far. I was told that I had 56 something per hour during the sleep study. Will get that clarified during the appointment now that I know what the terms mean.

Re: First follow up 2 months in, what should I expect
I would expect your doctor to congratulate you. They'll probably ask if you're feeling better, and other health questions, but as far as compliance and efficacy: A+. Come back in one year.

You can expect a short meeting where the doctor says your doing fine...come back in a year.
Most doctors know very little about CPAP operation. Hopefully you have downloaded Sleepyhead so you can monitor your own therapy.

If you don't already have it, get a copy of your sleep study from your doctor. Congratulations.

Trust me I have a list of questions and a bit more knowledge now thanks to this forum. When they first contacted me after the sleep study it was only the beginning of the journey.

Which 60 series machine do you have? Take the water out and look on the bottom for the model #.

That way it will show in all of your posts. If it doesn't show up just type it in your Signature area.
For your Humidifier chose (PR System One 60 series Heated Tube Humidifier with Heated Tube) even if you do not have the Heated Tube yet.

Re: First follow up 2 months in, what should I expect
I went into my 2 month checkup appointment and he told me he had good news, "You're cured!". I had already been using SleepyHead so I knew that was not the case. I told him in front of his student doctor, "Don't ever tell anyone that ever again! I have sleep apnea I am being well treated. I am compliant. I will probably need a machine just like the one I have for the rest of my life!". I was pissed off, angry and a bunch of other things. And have not been back. If I am having problems later,I will find someone else. Please use SleepyHead. Be your own advocate! learn about your affliction!

Results from the first followup. Nurse said A+, Doctor said you are a model CPAP user. Come back only as needed. Sudden numbers or weight changes call.
