So had my first night with the mask on. I changed the EPR setting to 3 and left the pressure on automode from 4 to 7. Exhaling is now not a problem at all.

I slept relatively ok, woke up several times fighting with the hose and my nose feels a bit sore. If that won't improve I might try to switch to a nose mask.

Good news is that my AHI went done to 1.4/h and did not snore at all! Wow, I used to snore like an elephant all the time, with/without all the mouth devices I tried. I still feel tired and have brainfog, hopefully that will improve as well coming time.

Tips to help -->

- Observe how the hose runs from the machine to the mask. Manage your hose in such a way that it does not pull on the mask when you move in the bed. You need some slack in the hose. Check when you bed down that the slack is there.

- Watch the manufacturer's videos on how to adjust the mask headgear. There is a medium range, not too loose and not too tight, that needs to be achieved. Videos for most masks can be found at https://www.cpap.com/

- Do use a small amount of Lansinoh lanolin on irritated areas.

Last night did not go well. I woke up at 4am, removed the mask to go to the toilet, but the strap came loose and couldn't fit it together and slept the rest of the night without it. I read the manual this morning and reassembly is easy after all.

I also checked the nose plugs. I used the S size plugs which are definetly to small for me and replaced them with the L-size. I also bought a heated hose and hose guidance so the hose is vertically above my pillow. Will see how tonight will go.

I also installed the SleepyHead software, interesting to see how the pressure is increased with an obstruction. The minimum pressure of 4 is too low sometimes and increased to 7 for most of the night.

They are called nasal pillows.

Please go to User Control Panel and fill out your Equipment Profile.

Now you can take control of your therapy.

Anything below 7, I get the feeling of not enough air (suffocation). If I were you, I would increase the minimum pressure to 7 and monitor the results with Sleepyhead and your subjective estimate.

After the first 3 nights with the Airfit P10 my nose is really sore and some skin is missing. Will call the hospital tomorrow for advice. Perhaps I have to switch to a nasal mask, but did not really like them due to the easy leaks and more bulk on my face.

Would it help to use vaseline on my nose at night?

Use the Lansinoh not vaseline. It can be found in the baby area of Walmart, Target, and many drug stores. It is for nusring mothers and will help your irritation. I only had to use mine about a week.

Are you even reading what the people here are advising you? They are more help than any hospital.

used some Lansinoh creme yesterday and changed the L-size pillows with M-size. Slept like a baby for 8 hours with an AHI of 1.2!

So will stick with the Airfit P10 for now. As I sleep on my side most of the time I'm a bit reluctant to switch to a nasal mask like the Mirage FX they offered me.

Thanks for your help/tips.
