Sleeping on your stomach

Post by Viperchic » Sun Nov 08, 2015 9:34 pm

Does anyone here sleep on their stomach while using their machine? I'm a stomach sleeper and worried I won't be able to get comfortable laying down while hooked up.

Sleep on my stomach every night. Took me about 2-3 months way back 9 years ago to figure out how, but I've done it ever since.

Key is to have the mask hang off the edge of the pillow. For me it ends up very close to the mattress many times being held by my hand which lets me adjust its position as I sleep as needed.

I told my sleep tech that I sleep on my stomach and completed my study and then later my titration that way. They did wake me up and requested I try to sleep on my back but I'm sure it wasn't long before I rolled back over.
I put one arm under my pillow and one over and turn slightly to my side. My P10 pillows mask has a very flexible short hose that connects to the main hose. When I first started I would rest my hand on the connection and when I needed to turn would move it with me. Now I hardly even know when I am turning.
Don't worry you will find how you are comfortable and it will become old hat after awhile.

I was a stomachs sleeper before CPAP and eventually reconfigured to sleep on my back or side. It took quite a while to get ylused to it.

I cut out a place in my memory foam bed for my FFM to dip into - similar to a massage table thing... been doing it for years and it works.

I use a full face mask and a buckwheat pillow...I sleep in all positions at night. I have gotten into a routine of falling asleep on my left side, then switching to my stomach and then to the right while ending up on my back in early AM.
