Request Advice... Still feeling sleepy and lethargic

Post by p_rags55 » Mon Oct 26, 2015 12:11 am

Dear Friends
I have been using Resmed S9 autoset with Nasal Mask(changed to Airfit nasal pillow two days back) for just a month. The readings are averaging AHI 5 (a drop from 63.5 during sleep study) . Leakage has come down from 22 to 3. Pressure reading averaging from 11 to 14.
Request friends for advise on the following:

1 Still feeling sleepy even after cpap ahi down especially in the morning.

2 Is there a need to set pressures in Resmed Autoset Machine when It is Automatic? My Technician has put the min pressure at 8 and max at 18.

Request advice

Regards

What is your AHI made up of that you are seeing averaging around 5?...what category of event? Central? Obstructive Apnea? Hyponea?

Where are you getting your AHI of 5 and average pressure numbers of 11 to 14?
Off the machine or using software?

Do you know about the software you can use to get more details?
https://sleep.tnet.com/equipment

How many hours of sleep are you getting using the machine?
Do you wake often during those hours?

Do you take any meds of any kind? If so, what are they?

A few observations from your post.
You have only been on therapy for about a month. That's really not nearly long enough to experience much benefit.
Your pressure settings are fairly wide open. The pressure changes could be disrupting your sleep architecture......bumping you out of your needed sleep stages and into lighter ones......leaving you feel unrested. Just because the pressure is set to "automatic" doesn't mean the therapy is better.

You should be able to see more from the software and your downloads.
