Mister Hose.....I agree that the alert beep is "totally pathetic". I thought it was partly due to my hearing so I'm glad you brought up the topic. My tubing gets disconnected and I want to know when that happens so have the alert on-it rarely awakens me.

Re: "Mask Alert" feature - worth using?
This is just the post ive been looking for
I am developing a device that is universal for all CPAP machines to give a customized alert when you take your mask off at night
without knowing it also I am adding a feature if your forget to put the mask on past a certain time you will get an alarm
It will also detect snoring and have some other features
This was inspired by my own struggles with my cpap machine I hope to have my prototype out soon

My mask has a special built in loud hissing sound that accomplishes the same thing. It's funny, because my mouth seems to have the exact same feature.

Another useless "invention". I hope you don't have plans on getting rich off of this.bmfmancini wrote:This is just the post ive been looking for

And, you felt it was necessary to resurrect a 9-year-old thread to announce it?
Many of the machines already have sensors or warnings to notify the user when the mask is removed or a large leak is present.
And, to repeat what I said in this thread back then........
I don't want the machine to shut off or wake me up if I'm leaking.......I just want it to keep blowing therapy air.Wulfman wrote:Another one of those things I either never tried or did and shut it off.
Don't need anything else trying to wake me up during the night.

Edit: As far as "taking the mask off during the night", I only did that a couple of times and very quickly trained myself NOT to do that. It really doesn't take long to overcome that if you're very determined to optimize your therapy.
