Mister Hose.....I agree that the alert beep is "totally pathetic". I thought it was partly due to my hearing so I'm glad you brought up the topic. My tubing gets disconnected and I want to know when that happens so have the alert on-it rarely awakens me.

Faced with the choice between changing one's mind and proving that there is no need to do so, almost everyone gets busy on the proof.....Galbraith's Law

This is just the post ive been looking for

I am developing a device that is universal for all CPAP machines to give a customized alert when you take your mask off at night
without knowing it also I am adding a feature if your forget to put the mask on past a certain time you will get an alarm
It will also detect snoring and have some other features

This was inspired by my own struggles with my cpap machine I hope to have my prototype out soon
Have a great day !

My mask has a special built in loud hissing sound that accomplishes the same thing. It's funny, because my mouth seems to have the exact same feature.

Another useless "invention". I hope you don't have plans on getting rich off of this.
And, you felt it was necessary to resurrect a 9-year-old thread to announce it?

Many of the machines already have sensors or warnings to notify the user when the mask is removed or a large leak is present.

And, to repeat what I said in this thread back then........

Don't need anything else trying to wake me up during the night.

I don't want the machine to shut off or wake me up if I'm leaking.......I just want it to keep blowing therapy air.

Edit: As far as "taking the mask off during the night", I only did that a couple of times and very quickly trained myself NOT to do that. It really doesn't take long to overcome that if you're very determined to optimize your therapy.
