All,
I just began trying a new machine and would like to know how to handle the data from both on Sleepyhead. Of course, I have a new clear SD cards for the new machines.
Do I just set up a new "user" for each machine or can I roll it into my existing user profile? It looks like a new one would be needed, but I couldn't really find any thing specific.
Also, what do you do for compliance? Just take in the multiple SD cards for the period in question?
Thanks for the help and any pointers on managing my data with multiple machines.
Best,
Mike

Re: Using 2 Machines with Sleepyhead
SleepyHead won't care if you have multiple machines in one user profile so there is no need to create a new profile.
Now the S9 machines themselves care so you can't mix machine data on one SD card (it can be done on Respironics machines though...one card for multiple machines) so if you still have to prove compliance usage then yes...take both SD cards with you to show whomever you are needing to show usage...or take a Sleepyhead report if they will accept it.

Thus, I just load the card from the new machine (either Resmed or Respironics) into Sleepyhead just as I was using my main machine and Sleepyhead sorts it all out? That's great!
I can't wait to take 2 cards to the DME/MD and try and explain what I'm doing!
PS. Used same settings on S9 Vpap as my SP Autoset last night. PS of 3 sure seemed to feel different than EPR of 3. Maybe it was just in my mind.
Best,
Mike

It may not all be in your mind. I experienced a similar feeling when I tried cpap mode on my VPAP and use EPR of 3 in cpap mode and PS of 3 in VPAP fixed mode. It wasn't quite the same feeling but I had to really think on it to feel the difference...it was very close but not quite the same.Macpage wrote:PS. I suspect it has something to do with the EasyBreathe technology of the VPAP...the timing is just a little bit different.

Re: Using 2 Machines with Sleepyhead
To me, the EPR feels a little more like inhale/exhale have a small bit of distinction. The pressure feels like a more rapid drop off at the end of inhale. WIth the Vpap, I felt like inhale/exhale were little more connected. I can see why it works for higher pressures. In either case, nice to have a break on exhale even with low pressure, at least for me.Pugsy wrote:It may not all be in your mind. This does make me wonder what it's like adding Flex to pressure support on the Respironics. Do you recall this?
Best,
Mike

Re: Using 2 Machines with Sleepyhead
You know that Respironics offers Flex on their BiPaps...I think that any of the Flex options tend to do what the EasyBreathe function on the VPAP does....rounds off the inhale and exhale transition to make it just a little smoother.Macpage wrote:This does make me wonder what it's like adding Flex to pressure support on the Respironics. I had always felt like it was a "timing" thing even with the Respironics Flex relief but it is very possible what I feel is more of the smoothing out process and I perceive it as "timing".
When I was using the Respironics machines I always used whatever Flex option was available not so much for the actual drop in pressure but because it made the whole breathing process feel more "natural" and not so mechanical.

Re: Using 2 Machines with Sleepyhead
Sleepyhead will show a change of prescription at the bottom every time you switch the machine so it's not a problem putting both in the same 'patient' account. I had 3 machines since I started in May and it took the info just fine.

Re: Using 2 Machines with Sleepyhead
Hi Macpage,
I have two PRS1 machines, and load them both into the same user in SleepyHead. The only time SleepyHead can't handle that is when I use two machines in the same day (for instance if I nap on one machine and then sleep at night with the other). SleepyHead lists the results of only one machine in that case. If SleepyHead picks the machine with the low number (sleep hours) it might show I'm not compliant. I'm waaay past needing to prove compliance, and the two-machines-in-one-day situation is rare, so it does not matter for me.
