Sleep apnea caused by PTSD

I am a veteran on compensation for PTSS, now diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. Have a CPAP now does not help. I am trying for compensation for the sleep apnea. vA will approve if I get a doctor to write a letter saying my sleep apnea is caused by the PTSD. Doctors won't write shit. Anyone know a doctor who believes they are related. Anyone ever deal with similar and point in right direction.

You have the cause and effect confused. PTSD does not cause sleep apnea.

But very often, the symptoms of sleep apnea in veterans is misdiagnosed as PTSD.

Have a CPAP now does not help.

You probably don't have the system setup and used properly.

PTSD does not cause sleep apnea.

I can tell you from my activity in veterans organizations, you are exactly correct.

The VA is finally starting to get veterans with sleep apnea properly diagnosed. There have been way too many vets diagnosed with PTSD who actually were suffering from sleep apnea.

It is simply easier to prescribe pills and more pills. That is what they were trained to do. If pills don't work, open the patient up and root around and see if something needs removed or sewn up. Anything else is sheer quackery... /sarcasm off
