Belsomra
Belsomra
Has anyone here tried Belsomra, the new sleeping aid? I have a free trial for it. I tried it once last week but it didn't do much. But since I tried it after arriving from a flight back from Europe, I attribute the lack of effect to jet lag. Since then I have read numerous posts online that says it can cause vivid nightmares and related problems. I didn't take well to Ambien when i first tried it so the Dr. put me on Tamazepam which I has worked for me (when I use it, which is sparingly). Just curious.

Re: Belsomra
A former sleep doctor prescribed it but I felt it wasn't appropriate for my situation after reading the drug insert about contraindications. RobySue, a forum member who hasn't been on for awhile, seemed to have good luck with it. But I don't recall many other positive online stories about the med.novatom wrote:Has anyone here tried Belsomra, the new sleeping aid? I have a free trial for it. Re: Belsomra
I've tried it.
I was given both the 10mg and 20mg sample by my doctor. I took them starting with the 10mg on a Friday night
and did get to sleep but was awaken by a disturbing dream. It wasn't a nightmare per se but it was unsettling.
The next night it happened again but I was able to sleep and wasn't too concerned about the dream.
Sunday night I took the last of the 10mg doses but didn't have much luck with getting to sleep.
Monday, I switched to the 20mg and was unable to get to sleep and being that I was testing these on a week night
and have to work I didn't take the other two 20mg tablets. I won't be taking them any more as I don't believe the
work consistently enough for me though nothing really works these days. Also, I bet this medicine will be expensive
since it's new.

Disclaimer: I haven't tried it, nor do I plan to. It's all been discussed before... search this site in the search window in the upper left side for the word 'belsomra'.
For a more comprehensive search try this in your preferred internet browser's search engine, for instance, Google or Duckduckgo:
site:cpaptalk.com belsomra
No matter what you read, insurance or not, it's probably going to be very expensive. From what I can tell it's received very mixed results on this forum.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
