Poll: Report Spam button

General Discussion on any topic relating to CPAP and/or Sleep Apnea.

Should the "Report Spam" button stay or go?

Yes, it's being abused, so I think it should go.

No, keep it, even if it's being abused.

I would prefer a "Report Post" option.

"Worried" is the wrong word. I don't think anyone should be allowed to "moderate" this forum and delete any posts they simply don't agree with or like. That's been happening so frequently lately that I thought the subject deserved some discussion.
Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Dx 11/07: AHI 107, central apnea, Cheyne Stokes respiration, moderate-severe O2 desats. (Simple OSA would be too easy. ;))

I'm not sure, but I think Hang Fire just reported his spam button.

switching it to a report post button would put a lot more work on the goodmans heads than they want to invest in the forum, OR it would necessitate a group of assigned moderators that had the ability to delete posts reported.
I agree with this part of your post. Our hosts are already plenty generous. Let's not put any more burden on them.

Just for the record, as far as I can remember, I have never used the Spam button for any reason. But should I ever decide to use it, there would be no complaints from me about the public being able to see that I deleted something.

How about taking the Reply button away from dummies who answer obvious spam posts?

Someone deleted a post I wrote last night. Was it you, BB? If not, you would have enjoyed it. Interesting that the Goodmans couldn't care less what's been happening here. That's good to know though. Time to start deleting any post I don't agree with... and there are many. Also wanted to mention that in the post that was deleted, I suggested that this "she" person must be a very smart lady, with an IQ of at least 160, and extremely tech savvy. Don't worry though, I saved it for future reference, as was this one. (Partial repeat of a different post.)

I guess you are perfect Chevie and have never done anything dumb your entire life. If you can honestly say that, then yeah, I would agree with your above point.

I'm surprised about the PMs I received this morning. All three saying in effect that after they got what they needed here, they were gone. One person said that he doesn't get why people can't see the forest through the trees, and how obvious it was who was doing most of the deleting.

I'm delighted that people will now be able to find posts that someone has deleted. I look forward to reposting the info whenever someone complains that a post of theirs was deleted.

Hopefully, the Spam Button will only be used for obvious spam.
