Hey all. My DME is renting me a Respironics REMstar Pro M-Series unit, and I forgot to ask if it was new or used. In Provider Mode, the "Total Blower Hours" figure pretty much exactly matches how many hours I've used it.
So, if this data value is not resettable/zero-able, then it's a new unit. However, if there's some way for the DME to zero this value between customers, then it may be a used unit.
Does anyone know? The unit's operating system (provider menus) don't seem to offer any way to zero the value. But, I don't have the provider manual.
I'm obviously really hoping it's an unalterable "lifetime" measurement. Does anyone know? Thanks.
M-Series "Total Blower Hours" - lifetime or resett
Since the "M" Series is very new, I would feel pretty confident that you would have a new one. I think the only way they can wipe out the total hours is at the factory.

Blower hours
At least with the "older" Remstar Autos, when you unplug it and plug it back in, it'll give you the (non-resettable) blower hours for an instant. The therapy hours readings can be EASILY reset, but the blower hours can't.
Hope this helps.

Sure does! Thanks again guys. It seems I have a brand new machine.... It's been 31 days, and I guessed I've used it an average of roughly 5.5 hours per night (would be more except for my problem of taking the mask off in my sleep some nights). Then I checked the blower hours, and it was 178 hours, divided by 31 days would give 5.74 hours per night, which basically means I have to be the first and only user.Hope this helps.
Thanks again, it puts my mind at rest.
