H5i water chamber question
H5i water chamber question
I've had the latch break on two water chambers and although the chamber is still usable, I now try to keep a spare. The most recent replacement I got is much heavier and it has a weird plate (seemingly non- removeable) on top of the tub. This makes it much harder to pour water into the tub and more likely to spill water. I take the tub out every morning and rinse. At night I add water straight from my gallon jug. Why would I want to transfer water to another container first? I wonder if anyone has taken pliers to that plate and done a removal job? That's what I'm thinking of doing as I can see no logical reason for it being there.
Re: H5i water chamber question
Not sure which water chamber you are talking about but check out this video and see if what you have looks like this one. It was the original standard disposable chamber and looks like it is hard to take apart or won't come apart but it does.

If your chamber doesn't look like this one above....can you provide an image of what yours looks like?

Re: H5i water chamber question
No, I was confused by references to a "disposable" tub. The two I've had before now look exactly like the one in this video, except the top cover has plastic snap latches on all four sides. It is obviously meant to take apart and clean. The top popped off entirely, but with snap latches. The new one has the same top that comes off, but there is a non-detachable plate with several holes covering the entire tub. Of what use, I cannot imagine. Except to encourage me to spill water!!
Re: H5i water chamber question
I can find pictures of the chamber but none that show the change I'm talking about. I'm hoping that surely someone else has had the same issue and can advise me about cutting the plate out.
Re: H5i water chamber question
Take it back to your DME and ask them about it! I really can't relate to your problem since I have never changed my humidifier chamber.....now 15 months since I got my S9.LTen wrote:No, I was confused by references to a "disposable" tub. Re: H5i water chamber question
Actually it never occurred to me that there would be more than one model of a humidifier tub that would fit or work! I had made the assumption that what I got was the.. haha .."new and improved" version and that was it. I'll ask if I can get the older model. Thanks.
