New Forum

Post by Altered_Ego » Sun Aug 13, 2006 6:56 pm

I've decided to do my own part to help people understand Sleep Apnea.

I added a Sleep Apnea forum to my already existing forum.

You could consider this endeavor as perhaps a more personal touch, in which I share my own experience with Sleep Apnea.

My forum also includes links to online resources, such as this forum.

Check it out if you like.

Does this seem to be suspicious to anyone else??/

I'm inclined to start deleting it as spam, unless someone else can vouchsafe for this "forum."

Be forewarned.

Geesh, I've had my web site for 6 years.

It mostly dealt with stuff of interest to computer artists.

I've suffered from Sleep Apnea all my life, and recent difficulties in that area convinced me to add a Sleep Apnea section to my own forum.

If you bothered to look at my site, or the forum link, you wouldn't be so gauche as to accuse me of spam.

PS... I mistakenly posted one message without signing in. These things happen.

My web site has been free for years, and that's the way it will remain.

If you have doubts, do a Google Search for Ron Knights, ronknights, Poser or DAZ|Studio.

Do me a favor, and don't make false accusations.

If......

If our suspicions are unfounded, then you have our sincerest apologies.

Do bear in mind that this forum has be PLAGUED with spam posts where the motive is simply to induce members to click on a link, thereby providing the poster of that link with some paltry payment.

I mean PLAGUED.

So, your appearing out of nowhere and offering this "forum" in no way passes the "smell test" given this forum's history.

I accept your apology... but I do believe it's important to do even a small amount of elementary research.

I'm experiecing, firsthand, just how difficulty life can be if you're working with people who don't seem to understand the whole concept of Sleep Apnea and treatment.

I'm on Welfare right now, unable to work. I had a CPAP machine for 6 years, but it died.

I had a recent up-dated sleep study and a BiPap machine was prescribed. I can't get the State of Maine to pay for the BiPap machine I really need.

Many people who know me are very interested in the story I have to tell about my own experiences... I did some research in the process, and found this forum on Google.

I really want to be involved in the community, and help educate others.

Sometimes I do my best work, in my own way, on my site. One can read about Sleep Apnea there, and also see some cartoons I've created which mirror my own Real Life.

So now, hopefully, we understand and accept each other.

Ron, sorry, but I fail to understand your site and how it relates to OSA.
It may be helpful to mention that you also have a site for the esoteric crowd, but when you seem to be promoting it or drawing attention to it, then you should be prepared to accept the reactions you are getting.

Nothing is wrong with off the wall sites and your journey thru life, but I think you would be better served by not drawing attention to your eccentricities.

But your altered ego moniker says volumes about you

I believe I've already explained my own story, and my site.

To paraphase myself, I'm a computer artist who suffers from Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

I'm well known in the Computer Art Community for sharing my artwork and personal experiences. I've even offered you ways to look me up on Google and verify that information for yourselves.

You can choose whether or not to accept my words.

I'm sorry you find some fault with my "alias," but I will not change it.

I have no fear of calling attention to myself. Why should I?!

You can choose not to visit my forum or site. I don't really care.

Now why don't we just concentrate on what we have in common?!

Thanks. I'm done with this thread.

But I'd like to hang around the rest of the forum.

You're doing a great service here!
