I think perhaps you are not understanding what he means by scam. What he is talking about is quite common. Doesn't mean you fall for it but to say nobody had tried that on you seem unbelievable.
But as for his machines CL is the right place to be peddling old equipment like that.

I understand.......They send a phoney check or MO for more than the asking price and then ask you to send a check for the overage...a few days later their check or MO bounces....Meanwhile you may have also sent the product in question to them....All my transactions have been local...face to face.

That's the one. Lol when you call them on it you usually don't hear any more from them. I agree locally is much better.

I have a stack of bank check and cashiers check for craigslist scams ... I have fun leading them on and getting them to send me check with a promise I will wire transfer the "extra" funds to there "shipper", and then telling them it will take 4 to 8 weeks to clear there check
