Airsense 10 humidifier doen't work with slimline

Post by hiroto437 » Wed Jun 03, 2015 12:38 am

Hi all,
I have just received my new Airsense 10 CPAP for a week. The tube is the standard slim line. In the 1st and 2nd night, the water level was not changed. In the 3rd night, i tried to warm it and it seems working because the water level was reduced 50% of the tub in the 3rd night. Then the 4th and 5th the water level was not changed again and the heated plate was just a bit warm. Can you please advise me how to solve the problem.
P.S. I bought the CPAP from US, but now i am not in US. I would like to try as much as i can first.
Thank you very much,
Hiroto437

Where do you live? Is it an area that is very humid in general?

Water usage will vary depending on the ambient humidity.
It has nothing to do with the slimline hose vs the optional heated hose.
The heated hose just allows for more customization of the humidity to be delivered and the air temp in the hose.

what problem is that? as pugsy implied, the new machines are very smart, they have microprocessors in them, and don't just act dumbly. they have ambient humidity sensors in them, so they don't just blindly set a temperature to add 'some' water to the air. they react to ambient conditions, and variations day to day. on dry days, they'll use more water, on damp days, they'll use less.

Thank you very much palerider and Pugsy for your advices.
I live in Bangkok where the climate is hot and humid. So i just found a document says that if the smilely face of Humidity in the Sleep Report is green that means the humidifier is working fine. I think it is working fine now. Thank you again.
Thank you,
Hiroto437

you may not even need to use any extra humidity... the humidity feature is purely for your comfort.

some people, even in lower humidity areas, don't use added humidity, it's just what is needed to make *you* comfortable. so, experiment with it

Here lately where I live we have been seeing a lot of rain.
When it rains (or the humidity is really high like it might rain) and I have the windows open my humidifier won't use much, if any, water.
Now when I shut the windows and/or run the air conditioning I will use almost all the water in the chamber.
As long as my nose is happy with whatever humidity it is getting (and it sure lets me know if it gets dry and is unhappy) I don't worry about the amount of water used.
