Nasal interfaces: Aura vs. the others?

Post by Snorgone » Mon Aug 07, 2006 10:13 pm

i'm currently using a mask on cpap at a pressure of 5, and would like to get a nasal interface. i sleep 50/50 side vs back (never on stomach). has anyone tried several of these and liked one over another? i've never used a humidifier. would this help with the nasal systems?

thanks so much for helping this newbie !!!!

I like the Aura (Aeiomed's "Headrest with nasal seal") very much.

Here's a clickable link to some interesting discussions about quite a few masks:

LINKS to MASKS - nasal mask, nasal pillows, nasal prongs

And here's a link to dealing with the main air hose, to keep it from tugging on ANY mask:

I love the Aura for facial comfort but just can't tolerarate the headgear! (Stays in place so well, it pulls my hair out! )
But, if you follow RG's instructions of deconstruction, you can solve such a problem. I would have tried this fix on mine except I passed it on to another fellow pap'er! He loves it as is!

thank you so much for the great information and links !!! from all i've read the aura with the "modifications" will be the one i try first. does the nasal soreness/irritation that some have gotten tend to go away over time?

i was doing some "surfing" and stumbled upon the "cpap pro". this has a part that goes in the mouth and you bite down i guess, which holds the nasal pillows in place. does anyone have experience with these?
