smartstart/stop on RESMED S9

Post by jad238t » Mon May 18, 2015 10:25 pm

I've been using the smartstart feature on my machine for the last 5 years without a problem until last week when they changed the pressure on my machine from 12 to 10. Now it won't turn off when I remove the mask and it's driving me crazy hissing at me in the morning while I'm still too asleep to turn it off manually! I did a search on old topics but couldn't seem to find the solution. I've checked and it's set for nasal pillows and I'm using the P10 mask. The only change seems to be the lower pressure, could that keep it from turning off automatically?

This is what I get for playing along with them at the doctor's office and not telling them that I knew how to change the pressure myself! Thanks for any suggestions.

is it set for "nasal" or "pillows". "nasal pillows" isn't a setting, I believe.

Whoops! It's set for "pillows".

I ask because I've seen this exact behavior when the mask was a pillow mask and the setting wasn't set to pillow.
