Sold - REMstar Auto A-Flex System plus more

Post by Awperator » Fri Aug 30, 2013 2:55 pm

Unit has been sold, thanks!

Hello,

Longtime lurker, 1st time poster. I got my machine last year after a sleep study. Used it for a few nights but then I stopped because it was blowing air up my eye ducts and drying out my eyes overnight. I have since had a tonsillectomy (including uvulectomy and work in my nasal cavity) and gotten a Tempurpedic, all of which has greatly improved my quality of sleep.

I would like to sell my machine + kit. This includes the CPAP + humidifier, hose, power supply, memory sticks, new nasal pad, and a box of mask liners.

I'm not really looking to make a profit on this - I'm planning on moving out of the country at the end of the year and getting rid of a lot of my stuff so make me a decent offer and it'll be yours. Any information/pics/whatever that you need can be provided as a post or PM.

Thanks!

I wouldn't sell the machine until you have a titration to see if the sleep apnea is gone. All the surgeries may make you sleep better, but, may not have solved the apnea problem. If you are moving out of the country soon and later you find that you need the CPAP it may be harder and more expensive to replace it.

The only other option for me to be able to use the CPAP again would be to plug my tear ducts. I'm not willing to go through that, so the CPAP must go! The tonsillectomy was a while ago and I am sleeping much much better.

Bump!

Sounds to me like you had the wrong mask. I couldn't tell from your posts which one you were using, but it sounds like it was a type of nasal pillows.......there are definitely other masks which would work better......like the "total face mask" type.

I'm also of the opinion that you shouldn't sell it just yet, either.

No I had the total face mask. We tried different pressure settings and different options (including eyedrops before I go to sleep and when I wake up!!). No go.

There's a sticker on the bottom of the blower unit with a 3 digit model number...can you tell us that number?
Also on the same sticker is an 8 digit number probably beginning with 2012 or 2013..can you tell us what that number is?
Also, how many blower hours on the machine?
If you don't know how to find the blower hours...it's part of the clinical menu setup under the Info section.
Here's how to get to the clinical setup menu if you don't know how.

How to see the machine hours:

Accessing the Provider Mode Screens

Once “Setup” is highlighted, press and hold both the control wheel and the Ramp button on the device for at least 5 seconds.
You will hear a quick double beep and the Provider mode screen will appear, shown below. You are now in provider mode.

From the Provider screen, highlight “Info” and press the control wheel. Choose Machine hours with the round wheel.

Machine hours - This screen displays the amount of time that the machine has been active over the life of the device.
Note: Therapy hours and blower hours can be reset for new patients. Machine hours are not erased.

I'm at work right now but I'll have that information within 18 hours.

The numbers on the bottom of the unit are these:
20120820
560P

On the humidifier:
201200815
DS6HFLG

Machine hours: 0.00 - I remember now that I swapped this unit for one with an adjustable ramp and therapy. Didn't use it because I had the tonsillectomy.

Thank you for providing the additional information. I don't know anyone at the moment who might be in need of this machine but having all this information available should help someone decide if this machine suits their needs depending on the price you are wanting to get. It's a great machine...full efficacy data and software (SleepyHead and Encore) is easy to obtain and use.

For those wondering...this is the machine..The PR System One 60 series Auto CPAP machine model 560
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-sys ... -tube.html
The humidifier would be the 60 series PR System One heated humidifier.
From the pictures shown...it does not have the heated hose conversion kit/lid nor heated hose (which has a black end on the hose) but that option (the upgrade kit) only costs $75 if someone should need/want the heated hose.

This number 20120820 tells us the machine was manufactured on Aug 20, 2012...so there's about a year left on the warranty.
