Since I started the poll.... I voted first.

I like the M-series over the TANK. It is quieter, smaller and you don't wear out your hose by having to take it off to fill the humidifier.

Additionally, the newest version of the M-series humidifier will run off of 12V DC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's see the TANK do that one!!!!

Also has A-flex which is not available on the TANKS.

I thought the tank was quieter and really didn't mind taking the hose off - at least I didn't have to take the chamber off the machine & could see what I was doing. Didn't have as many water leaks or other water related problems either.

I really don't think the M saved ANY space at all.

The BIGGIE is the tank recorded your data.

Why are we talking about this? Really??

I would like to find that 12 Volt M Series Humidifier but cannot find one for sale or a specification sheet on that particular unit. Does it really exist???

I didn't vote because I never had a "M"eries, I didn't need to buy one to know which is best. Jim

I guess I could have done like the pres election in Flordia, voted twice and had it counted three times, but that probably would have worked if I voted for a Bushmaster.

EDIT: I don't think some are telling the truth, if you think your"M"eries is better than the "TANK", please post your receipts for the "TANK". That should help the truth factor.

I run my "TANK" HH off Zero Volts, I get plenty of moisture without heat.

I didn't vote, but you cannot set the m-series auto to the same upper and lower pressure as it insists on a 2 cm spread. So if you can do that in a tank, then I wish I had the tank!!!! The m-series auto seems more like a random number generator than an alogarithm driven medical device. I have to run it on cpap.

Yes you can set the Auto Tank in auto mode at the same pressures, I set mine at 15 CM and 15 CM. Why, it shows Flow Limitations on the dailies, that's the only difference. Jim

Tanks rule

One of the industry's great designs. Respironics should be rightly proud of it.

M series, with reservations.

I've had both, but it's not really a fair fight.

My "tank" was a straight CFLEX, with no data capability while my M series is an AFLEX with data.

I must qualify a bit, however.

The M series has some shortcomings, namely...
- a goofy torpedo-shaped power supply that should have been integrated into the unit,
- a smart card slot in a dumb (rear) location
- a hose port in the rear for some unknown reason
- and, an apparent bug in the firmware that erases data on a fortnightly basis, unless patients format the datacard weekly.

Some hereabouts have issues with the humidifier. Not me, but I don't heat the H20, so a smaller capacity works just fine.

Complaints aside, I thought CFLEX was a miracle, until I tried AFLEX. From my highly positive experience w AFLEX, I would be reluctant to even try anything else.

Regards all, Tom

one needs to eventually get over the tank as they stopped production of it over a year ago. The ones you see are what were left over in stock, but if you read the Respironics warranty you will find it is 24 months from the time it ships from the factory to the distributor, that is when the 24 month clock starts.

So if that happened 6 months ago, you only have a 18 month warranty, if 12 months ago only 12 months left.

If a distributor honors that warranty they are doing it on their own, you could however be caught out if said dealer went out of business, would the factory honor it?

coming soon...
Remstars on pallets right next to the Norelco razors at Costco. Now let's hope they don't buy Braun or we'll be up a creek without a decent shave.

Forgive me for doubting you, wise ole SnoreDog. But I have a hard time swallowing that the guarantee only applies to the DME suppliers - so - I've e-mailed Respironics to ask them. I'll post their reply when I receive it. Hopefully that will clarify the situation once and for all.

The prices are looking good right now for the pre-M series Bi-PAP and the guarantee issue will be the deciding factor whether I buy one or not. (Gotta do something w/the tax rebate from BushBaby). This is probably the only opportunity that I will have to be able to afford a backup and travel bi-level.

With the way the dems are running things your BushBaby may get an unprecedented 3rd term, ha! Scary, I know.
