I'm new to the forum. I'm french. Please be indulgent with my English.
First I would like to share my data. I'm here mostly to be reassured.
I'm used to the psychiatric system and I'm taking a strong medication. But can be worst actually. I didn't sleep fine during this night, but I'm feeling relaxed today and calm. I'm having mixed treatment anti-psychotics & adhd treatment.
Well I will not be precise with the treatment because this is keeping me stable globally. If someone wants to know, feel free to ask what treatment I have.
I attached a reference to be sure that the cpap treatment is correct. I'm mostly breathing with the mouth ( can be seen on the graphic ? ). The constant pressure was my decision. I'm also doing sports like I can to BE SURE to sleep correctly the next night. Somehow I am truly obsessed by such kind of night. But the important fact is that after this night I wasn't very productive during the day, but it's another thing : volition troubles du to my mental illness.
My gear is resmed s10 "elite". I was hurt by the resmed s20 so I switched to the fisher & paykel : VITERA. The vitera is a good mask, but more susceptible to gives air leaks ! So, I'm always triple checking the intensity of the tensions of the straps.
I'm really trying to be regular with the cpap treatment but I must be more disciplined : more sports, more efforts during the day and taking the night medication at fixed hours.
I'm also here, to learn from other users ( tips / advice ).

Re: hello everyone [New user from France]
Rest assured your English is better than my French.
How long have you been on cpap? Oh and why the straight pressure? Most of us like an auto at least to start at a lower pressure until needed - but hey if you are happy.
IF you are getting a steady AHI of 1 that is good. Are you feeling better after?
I think there may be a few here that do speak some French so I hope they come along soon.
Meanwhile, welcome to the zoo.

Re: hello everyone [New user from France]
Welcome! Please feel reassured -- your apnea treatment is working well. Many people here consider an AHI between 1 and 2 to be good and an AHI below 1 to be excellent. So if this night is fairly typical, you're doing great. Your leakage rate is just fine, so long as leaks are not disturbing your sleep.
I'm curious: do you think you were waking up a lot from about 4 a.m. onward? Your flow rate looks a lot less smooth and even. It's possible that you were actually awake during some of the flagged events. (The machine can't tell whether you're awake or asleep.)
It sounds as though you feel you benefit from creating some good patterns and rules for yourself. So I will take the liberty of passing along the guidelines often given for getting good sleep, in case they are useful for you:
• Keep a consistent sleep schedule. Get up at the same time every day, even on weekends or during vacations.
• Set a bedtime that is early enough for you to get at least 7 hours of sleep.
• Don’t go to bed unless you are sleepy.
• If you don’t fall asleep after 20 minutes, get out of bed.
• Establish a relaxing bedtime routine.
• Use your bed only for sleep and sex.
• Make your bedroom quiet and relaxing. Keep the room at a comfortable, cool temperature.
• Limit exposure to bright light in the evenings.
• Turn off electronic devices at least 30 minutes before bedtime.
• Don’t eat a large meal before bedtime. If you are hungry at night, eat a light, healthy snack.
• Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet.
• Avoid consuming caffeine in the late afternoon or evening.
• Avoid consuming alcohol before bedtime.
• Reduce your fluid intake before bedtime.
People here will be happy to help you with issues that come up. For now, I'd suggest continuing to post in this same thread.

Re: hello everyone [New user from France]
hey, no, the important fact is that when I sleep like so, I don't see any benefits. This is the frightening part. Most of the time it's the medication that is ruling my awake state ( ritalin ).SleepGeek wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 11:30 amRest assured your English is better than my French.

This night is a reference but I can told you that 90% of the time it's around 4/5 hours of sleep with the machine.
This morning I woke up devastated. I slept in three phase. And I tried with the machine. But seems that the machine is awakening me. The end of the night was without the gear.
Also, It's sad but it happens often. I should perhaps call the doctor but without the machine now it's often sleep paralysis.

Re: hello everyone [New user from France]
I'm on this therapy since more than 2 years now.
I tried something yesterday night. I have another mask the resmed F20. I tried sleeping with this one during the night.
And it seems that It manages much better the leaks.
I think I will switch to the F20 size L now. Even if this one was hurting me at another period.
