PR System One Software Options??

Post by 95C4 » Mon Dec 09, 2013 9:21 am

In looking at the System One 60 Series Auto CPAP machine, it appears there are at least 2 options for data analysis software - EncoreViewer 2.1 [$99+] & SleepMapper, which appears to be free for my Android phone.

Anyone had a look at both or use both & have a view on which is better for analyzing what is going on when you are hooked up to your machine??

Do they cover the same data sets, or different data?

Also, there are a lot of acronyms in the CPAP world & it would be appreciated if someone could point me towards a glossary of them as I don't at this stage know what any of them mean.
Thank you.

SleepMapper shows AHI only (no break down at all) and will tell you about large leaks if you had any and how many hours of therapy you got.
Pretty much useless. I have a snap shot of what it shows but it won't load right now.

You can buy EncoreViewer 2.1 for $100 if you want to. If you have Windows 8 or higher don't bother..it won't install on Win 8 or higher.
You can use free SleepyHead if you want to...
Check out my Signature line for links where to download SleepyHead as well as how to install and use it..and in the SleepyHead Tutorial I have examples of the reports...including Encore reports.

SleepyHead reports the exact same data points as the Encore software reports. Just presents it visually a little differently.

EncoreGuide link this will show you examples of what you will see. For a different machine than yours but the basics are the same.

EncoreBasic will also work with the PR S1 machines. Don't let the Basic part of the name turn you off..it shows the exact same reports as Viewer and Pro but it is much easier to manage than Pro. Send me a private message if you want to try it. Again if you have Windows 8 or higher...let me know as I know of a way to make it work on Windows 8 by sneaking past the installer.

Right now the only Encore version of the software that will install on Windows 8 is Pro 2.12...big PITA to use and unless someone has the model 960 machine..not work the work as the reports are the same.

I have Win8 so I think I will give Sleepyhead a try.
Thanks

I was just looking for the meaning of "xpap" and found it in the second part of the page you get to when you click on "CPAP Definitions" on the upper right side of this forum's Home page.

There is also the SleepyHead glossary. We took the terms from ResMed and Respironics manuals that you see on the reports and made a little glossary of those terms.
I have a link for it in my tutorial.
It covers some things that the CPAP Wiki doesn't cover because the terminology comes from some of the newer data points that weren't available when the CPAP Wiki was created.
Like for the Respironics machines....Clear airway event and RERA..those weren't around when the CPAP Wiki was written.

Of course I saw that about 10 seconds after I had posted the inquiry
