I went back and re-read the "MAP Policy" document that was sent out to the dealers. A lot of "lip service" was given to "Appropriate Prescription Medical Device Support"......but, unless that is defined in some other documents, I couldn't determine just what that amounts to. I read the "carrot and stick" (mostly stick) ultimatums for NOT changing the pricing to what they believe is appropriate.......but I don't see any "carrot" OR "stick" with regard to them NOT providing "Appropriate Prescription Medical Device Support", even if they change their pricing structures.
From the end of paragraph 2 in the "Rationale" section:
"However, Respironics does expect that each US Homecare Dealer will provide to the patients served by that US Homecare Dealer, the level of Appropriate Prescription Medical Device Support required by those patients"
OR ELSE.....WHAT???
IF......the level of "SUPPORT" is tied to whether the higher prices are listed for the products, then I would think that CPAP.COM is EXEMPT from having to comply because THIS support (CPAPTALK.COM) goes above and beyond what (most) other sellers (both online and brick and mortar) supply to their customers
Bob Pflueger.......if you're reading this......there were a lot of terms in that letter that seem undefined in my opinion. Far too many brick and mortar dealers do NOT live up to the level of service and support that online sellers provide......PERIOD. (and they've had the benefit of higher profit margins all along) Whatcha gonna do?......quit selling to them, too???
WHAT A BUNCH OF PHONY CRAP!!!
Den (still ranting.....)
