Re: Not satisfied with ResMed Air Mini

Glad you were able to resolve your problems with the machine. I have no experience with the Airmini but I bought a Breas Z2 Auto this spring, it was very loud and I couldn't sleep with it at all. After a good deal of research and experimentation it works well for me now. I was able to reduce the mas...

Re: Prepping for the next outage

Should be way under 65W. All power supplies are over sized to handle max machine pressure, humidifier and heated hose with still some extra capacity so the power supply is not over stressed. The Airsense 11 must be pretty efficient compared to the Airsense 10 and Philips System one machines like I h...

Re: Cpap for extended wilderness camping?

I haven't used my new lithium batteries and Z2 in the cold yet, just my old agm batteries with my Philips machine. With the big agm batteries I had to leave them out but I would use a double sleeping bag or a sleeping bag liner and put my machine in between the bags so I didn't have to touch all the...

Re: Prepping for the next outage

Wow, cool power station. You'll be able to run all sorts of stuff with that, I'm sure that was the plan. 1kwh capacity would power my little Z2 Apap for well over a month. :D

Re: Philips Attempting to Avoid Replacement of Recalled Older System One CPAPs

I just received my recall email today, a week after I selected to get replacements for my two series 60 System One's from the link I got here. I ordered an AirSense 10 with a free mask for $599 this Monday. I should be here in 2 more days. The AirSense will be my main CPAP and the Philips replaceme...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Nice job Philips, shifting the problem over the insurance companies and individuals that bought theirs outright. I have a System One Series 60 and I paid over $2000 for my share after insurance paid part of it. No way I'm taking $50 for it so definitely will be having it fixed. It's a back up machin...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Unlike some unfortunate people my Philips is just my back up and camping machine, although I do use it a fair amount. I had bought a used Resmed Vauto several years ago through the forum for my nightly home machine. It's been 10 months waiting so far for me and I needed a machine so I was forced to ...

Re: CPAP or APAP on a battery

Yes Nitelog is terrible. However you can glean some basic info from it, enough to accomplish your goal. If the pressure is staying down near 8cm then you will certainly get more run time from your power banks. How did you feel with an ahi over 5? As you realized, you probably don't want to set the m...

Re: CPAP or APAP on a battery

To answer your question specifically, what you are asking is not possible. You cannot directly compare cpap to apap mode at 14cm. In apap mode the Z2 requires that you select a pressure range of 1/2cm or greater between the high and low settings. Your settings and what pressure the machine decides t...

Re: CPAP or APAP on a battery

A bit on power banks. If your lucky the seller will list the watt hours. Watt Hours is what you want to figure out, that is the most relevant rating when looking at battery capacity. Watt hours will be relatively the same no matter what voltage you choose to run it at which can be widely different d...

Re: CPAP or APAP on a battery

The blower motor in the pap machine is what consumes the bulk of the needed power. The faster it runs the more current it draws and the more electricity it uses, the slower it runs the less electricity it uses. In order to save on battery the blower motor would need to run slower, in other words the...

Re: Best Travel machines

I'm following along here in regard to inline hose humidifiers. I've never used one and from what I've read in the past they do not work all that great. Interesting reading about peoples experiences with them. I might try one inline with my Z2 hose and see if it helps at all. I imagine it needs to be...

Re: Battery solution for Breas Z2 Auto and HDM Z1 CPAP offgrid (backpacking, camping) usage

That sounds like a bad experience. Are you sure there's a problem with the Z1? It kind of sounds like you haven't tried a different battery yet. From what you said it sort of sounds like the main problem is the Zendure power banks.

Re: Best Travel machines

Others that posted probably don't know that you don't have a back up machine and that's why you were looking at getting a travel unit as a secondary option. Ditto on what Pugsy said, more noise and no humidifier. Plus I think with most you won't be able to view data with Oscar software. I bought the...

Re: Prepping for the next outage

Always a good idea to have a back up machine, especially these days with major supply problems with all the Chinese electronics and other products that we've come to rely on. Breas claims the Z2 is designed and assembled in Massachusetts. That could mean a lot of things though, slapping a Breas stic...
