FYI: I bought a machine from cpap.com in January of 2009. This was a ResMed Vantage, which did NOT come with a clinician's manual. I would say that probably has to do with ResMed, rather than cpap.com.

Re: Mask Sterilization Chemicals
Two different sources have told me that they use chlorine bleach. One was the RT at my first DME after I turned in my original Swift, which she said was going to be bleached and sent to the lab where I had had my PSG and titration studies. The other was a sleep tech who was discussing a used mask b...

Re: How do YOU dry the hose?
I don't get it - if it IS clean (as in just cleaned) why worry about drying it? Why not just put on and use it? You will just be adding more moisture to the dry hose, no? To me drying it in room air will likely add many more impurities than you had before the cleaning. Thank you, Gumby...I figure t...

Paul, this is from a former physical education teacher: It makes a lot of sense to have an active day, followed by one with less walking. The muscle tissue is torn down a bit by exercise, and then takes a day or two to rebuild. This is true no matter what; your mother may not be a weight lifter doi...

Padacheek makes a very nice cushion cover, which is my term for lack of another. I didn't see it on her website, but if you would PM her or contact her through her site, she will make a custom layer for you that will solve your problem. She also makes hose covers that will help to insulate that nic...

...They have been adjusting her meds and got her started on insulin injections. She tells me the insulin injections are not nearly as bad as some folks have told her they would be. I guess this is another case of where the thought of the thing builds up unnecessary anxiety. They increased the insul...

If you want to really impress people, tell them that the hormone that the heart produces that increases urine production is called atrial natriuretic peptide. Then watch their eyes glaze over. Hi jdm2857 Got to admit that I don't get into too many conversations about that subject. But if I ever do ...

Ginny, my friend! 'Tis really YOU? Not to be old school, or anything, but have you tried securing the Headrest with tights leg(s)? I cannot remember, but *think* you may be a deconstructor of our beloved Headrest/Aura/Twilight NP/Headrest. I use 2 tights legs and have a nearly perfect leak rate of ...

GREAT NEWS, PAUL!!! I am so glad to hear that the surgery went well, and that it came off a bit sooner. That somehow seems to be a positive sign! My own grandmother had a stroke at 86 and had some paralysis and speech affected by the brain damage. She very much had a positive attitude, and rather s...

I am also thinking of you and your mom. Sending all the positive thoughts your way that I can, and may I observe that your mother seems to be one tough lady? She isn't going to ACCEPT anything less than the best possible outcome with an attitude like, "It's not like I'm dying or anything!" That sai...
