Re: Female cpap users
I have a boyfriend and my autoCPAP is a non-issue. It is for sleeping!! He accepts me as I am. Actually, I have him using one now because is was always tired, sitting down and falling asleep, and snoring. I learned from this forum how to avoid the expensive sleep studies. He feels much better now, d...

Re: Is my local DME crooked or is this normal?
I had a bad experience with a couple DMEs. I just pay out of pocket and buy what I need from Amazon, CPAP.Com, Ebay, and Bonanza. I mistakenly thought DME's were there to help people! My wrong!

Re: EPR. to use or not to use?
I found the EPR disturbed my sleep, so I shut it off. It is really something you have to experiment with. It is great for some and a nuance for others.

Re: 6- 6.5 hours sleep per night.....I want more
I finally had to give in and start a low does of amitriptyline (25 mg). I was not sleeping and I was miserable. That was after being on the auto CPAP since the middle of June. I have zero problems with my mask now after trying 7. I have been on the amitriptyline for for 2 1/2 weeks and it is definit...

Re: Switching CPAP to APAP --> Massive chest pain and GERD
Do you happen to have your EPR on? When I use that, I get a GERD feeling. I shut it off and it went away. I also keep my APAP range pretty tight. I don't let it go much under what I titrated at. That solved some issues for me.

Re: EPR wreck sleep?
I started making progress when I increased my minimum to 13.8. I have the maximum at 17. I had energy and much more emotionally stable. My sleep NP then put the minimum at 12 with and EPR of 2. I have been declining physically and mentally since. Her reason for the change was to see if I would be m...

Re: EPR wreck sleep?
Are you on a CPAP or an APAP with a very small range?ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Fri Oct 05, 2018 11:54 amI didn't like EPR from the start. Give me one steady pressure on each breath instead of the machine cycling up and down on each breath.

Re: EPR wreck sleep?
They TELL you thet NP means "nurse practitioner". What it really means is "not perfect". Feel free to set your own pressures, and tell others to . . . whatever. I went from painting my fireplace, kitchen cabinets, going out with friends, pretty much doing life. Was I back to me yet, not quite, but ...

Re: EPR wreck sleep?
EPR helped me get started--but I was on a single-pressure machine, and had been over-titrated by at least 3 cm.  After I got an S9 autoset, and was trying a Sleepweaver mask, I was advised to try shutting EPR off to improve stability. I have never missed it Thanks ChunkyFrog! My...

Re: EPR wreck sleep?
I've been working my pressures up to set my minimum just below where my machine (APAP) typically wants to maintain me. I hated EPR when my pressures were lower, but once I crossed into the 13's, it became highly desirable (at least for me). Good luck with it! -JD I think I am finding I am one who c...

Exactly...take something already challenging to get use to and let's just make it worse.
