Re: Newly diagnosed; haven't started treatment

Well ya'll please don't scare me away. If any of you old timers remember back before you were diagnosed, you may have had a great bit of difficulty with concentration and reading comprehension related to not getting adequate sleep for who knows how long. I have searched and searched the web for inf...

It's safe to say that these are all not one person. LOL! As dsm said, I have also had direct contact with many of them and IF they all we to be the same person... that person would need to be one insane individual... I guess that is what made this so funny. I would have liked to have seen the look o...

rozenbob, No offense, but you need to step back and take a deep breath. Many of the things you are saying demonstrates that you do not have a good understanding of the operation of your machine. Making adjustments to your pressure range and expecting certain results based on a lack of understanding ...

My Respironics Auto tended to stay at full pressure when I used the Remstar full face mask. For some reason the full face would show very high snore index. When I switched to the Swift nasal interface the pressure readings stopped maxing out and varied throughout the night. Also snore index dropped...

Since it's an auto-titrating machine won't the pressure quickly rise if I'm not getting enough oxygen? Plus, I can just turn off Ramp The pressure will not increase for that reason. It will only rise if it detects breathing patterns that it interprets as precursers to apnea or hypopnea. >>>Edited o...

A min pressure of 4cm most likely is too low... 5 or 6 would be more comfortable. Many people feel like they could use more air at 4cm. I prefer to use a nasal pillow interface... they are much less invasive. Take a look at cpap.com. They have a very comprehensive selection with loads in information...

It sounds like he is having difficulty getting his mask to fit correctly without making adjustments each tim he puts it on. Maybe look at getting him a nasal pillow mask. The are much less invasive and are VERY easy to put on an take off. I use >THIS< one. If he has a machine with an auto-on feature...

Re: Your policy belongs to you

Please do not blame your cpap supplier. They only do what your insurance tells them to do. You really need to know your insurance plan inside and out. Weigh the cost of the policy versus the annual deductible. In some cases you pay more in premiums for a low deductible than you would for the entire...

Thank you wading for adding this. I almost said this too but had to run to get my kids to school! This is the reason I almost never meet my deductable. Most of my small medical expenses do not go towards my annual deducatable. My wife currently works for a small company with a bad insurance plan. T...

I also have this. My current Doc let's me record my own at home and then use that as what he wries on my chart. If your Doc is not so trusting you can get a recording blood pressure monitor that you wear around like a bracelet. It will record your BP during your normal daily activity and give a much...

Your "Deductable" is paid annually... every year you have a new one. What you may be confusing it with is a "Copay" which is paid per occurance for each instance of each particular service or mechandise purchase or rental charge that is subject to a copay. In many policies items that are subject to ...
